I need to hide a boiler in my kitchen, I thought a custom built wall unit to match the rest of he units i need 400mm deep instead of the normal 300 to give a decent air space around the boiler.
The boiler is old but still in good working order and is balanced flu, and i intend to fit vents top...
I have never tried it myself but you could build boxes from plaster board to cover the lights. I heard someone say about this some time ago, not sure quite how to go about it but perhaps no nails to join it all up?
If i was you i would chop out the rendered section cover the whole with said capping and re render, The capping is supposed to prevent damage from plasterers trowel etc, check the cable before you re bury it. You should carry out an insulation test. 8)
Looks like your running at max load try taking some of the lamps out about 50% and see what happens.
The switch is rated at 400watts but this is a max value maybe try fitting 25 watt lamps.
Good answer, I would not rely on compression joints any way but just asked the question anyway. Threaded conduit is, i believe not deemed a secure earth so i would assume the same for pipes.
Bearing in mind this a DIY forum so compression joints are very likely to used instead of soldered on pipe work, can the pipe work still be relied upon to provide continuity?
Just a thought. could be four core pyro using 1 core as earth plus a tail on the pyro gland making the second earth. unlikely given the age of the garage but just athought as i said.
