lengthen 2.5mm cable to move a double socket

Thank you, when you say junction box to effectively join the two 2.5mm2 T+E are you indicating using the round ceramic type or other? I am thinking to wire an in-line socket above the window might be that little bit ott simply because it would never be used as one would need ladders to get up there.

lengthen 2.5mm cable to move a double socket

It is not feasable to shorten the cable to make the socket usable, it would, unfortunately, be far too high. I only think it comes from a junction box because its route takes it to the garage loft nowhere near the consumer unit, however this loft is not boarded, it has no light either. At my...

lengthen 2.5mm cable to move a double socket

Hello all. I moved house a month ago and I am getting round to sorting a few things out. I need to move cable/ socket that is overtly displayed in my garage[no hidden cabling until one gets into the loft where I think the junction box will be]. The cable is on a side wall and it is clipped along...

Hager mcb type MTN and NCN same bus bar.

Thank you for the link which I read with interest and don't fully understand, but I do get the gist of it, the circuitry will go in as John has indicated it should, and I will see where things go from there, albeit digressing slightly as I feel this subject will also be one for discussion, I...

Yep totally agree, I have read all you say and I agree with all that too and I welcome all the help I can get. You have given your advice freely as a professional and that is good enough for me.Totally agree its probably overkill from these manufacturers but us lay people without the everyday...

Hager mcb type MTN and NCN same bus bar.

It is confusing because the advice is contrary to the manufacturers spiel and as such is not in keeping with their warranty.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BURISCH-Air-Compressor-3HP-150L-Belt-Drive-Twin-14CFM-Twin-Cylinder-150Ltr-Litre/152008730523?hash=item23646d279b:g:y8gAAOSwmmxW5E0j Actually...

,if the figures we're being told are even remotely correct), you would need to wire the circuit in at least 4mm² cable (but 2.5mm² cable would be fine for a 16A MCB). Kind Regards, John No offence but I am not quite sure what your suggesting here, but if your indicating I have somehow...

I do not know that either, it is what I have read from a manufacturer through a dealer of compressors, where they say 'must have a 16 A dedicated supply as a way of objectively saying, I think, not for a 13 A domestic supply. Brushless motors seem to have no such problem, even at 3 hp many...

Hager mcb type MTN and NCN same bus bar.

I agree entirely, however somewhat conversely how many people who have compressors 3 HP do this, recently I have been looking for a second hand compressor, and the circuitry people try to run them off ,nothing short of amazing. A 13 A domestic supply is just not enough 2.2 KW drawing perhaps...

Hager mcb type MTN and NCN same bus bar.

If you can't work out how, you really shouldn't be doing this. It's unlikely that any circuit in a domestic setting could permit use of a type D 32A MCB. https://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk/mediafile/100106752/master_EARTHFAULTLOOPtable.pdf But they do, and the manufacturers of...

Well thank you all for the comments, seems to have started a great debate, argument even, however can someone please answer the query, keeping to the point to help me please. I would much appreciate it. I propose to wire it like so and from the CU direct not taking in other loads, it will be on...
