    Inspection Chamber Install

That's what got me. I called their Tech Help too, no use whatsoever! He basically regurgitated the text from the diagram

    Inspection Chamber Install

I'm just in the process of installing a long drainage run for my self-build. All is going well, but what's the best way to bed the chambers in? I've installed 3 Osma 450mm chambers each with 2 risers, 1 will be positioned in a shrub border so won't be driven over, but 2 of them are in the...

32mm MDPE - Bury fitting with testing?

Yes, I've used the correct inserts. The fitting went together nicely, those Philmac fittings are a doddle really. I'll pop out and see if I can get a cap to connect the compressor and see how we go. The mains connection was specced by Anglian Water at 32mm. As an aside, is Electrofusion...

32mm MDPE - Bury fitting with testing?

Thanks for this. I do have a compressor actually so that could be an option. So are you saying that if it survives pressurising to 3 bar without leaks you'd then bury it? I just need to work out how to connect the compressor to the end of the pipe.

32mm MDPE - Bury fitting with testing?

Title was meant to say "bury without testing?" I've got a long 32mm mains water run, 160m, so a join was pretty much inevitable. The pipe is laid in twinwall ducting and this will be the only joint until it reaches its final destination. I've used a Philmac joiner, which I've used before and...

    MDPE for internal install?

Thanks. Yes, that's the idea. Do you think I should connect the Blue MDPE to the Black MDPE with a normal straight joiner, then have a Stop cock in more favourable position? Or should the Stop cock be at the entry point irrespective of its convenience? I feel like I'm overthinking it a bit...

    MDPE for internal install?

1950's Bungalow, on it's original old lead water main. Stop cock is in a cupboard in the middle of the floorplan. I've had a 25mm Blue MDPE pipe brought up to the bungalow ready to replace the old main, it's earmarked for connection in about 6 weeks. Currently the new pipe terminates at a Brass...

That's the answer I was hoping for. Thanks!

    Self-Build - Boundary Box help...

OK great, but with cost aside is the longer run detrimental in any other way?

    Self-Build - Boundary Box help...

We're in the early stages of a self-build. We plan a 3ph connection, which will have to be to a Boundary Box at 35m from the base of the pole. This is still some way from the house, probably around 50m. Is this a concern? There is a closer pole that is probably shortens the distance between the...

    Temporary Living Accommodation...

The garage is attached to the house, we can't live in it as it'll be a building site.

    Temporary Living Accommodation...

That's actually really decent, comparable square meterage to a static caravan and would be perfect if only I had a use for such a building onwardly. Thanks for the link! Has got me thinking.

I'd like to see that. I get searching, but if anyone else can link to it that would be appreciated.

    Temporary Living Accommodation...

I hear ya and that's my worry. I feel that we are in most of that with a caravan. I fear rusty chassis', condensation, leaky roof, mould and that's before we get into the grimey fixed furniture etc. By building a more simple structure, we can use our existing bed, wardrobe, washing machine...

    Temporary Living Accommodation...

Those look lovely, but I'm certain would be cost prohibitive. We've been over and over future use of the building, but we just can't get aligned on an idea that isn't being reached 'just for the sake of it'. This is why I'm trying to figure if I can build something for roughly 'caravan cost'...

    Temporary Living Accommodation...

We're planning a self-build, but need temporary on-site accommodation as I will be the main contractor. There will be 2 of us living there and we have plenty of room away from the main build (half acre plot). Unfortunately, due to difficult access, a caravan would need to be craned in, so will...

    Driveway Gradient help needed...

Yes, I said that in my original post. The slope would need to transition back to the highway in the last 2.5m. But the rest of the driveway would benefit from the raised height, right up the point that you stop to view what's coming before you pull out. That's surely better than how it is now...

    Driveway Gradient help needed...

No, but the landowner agrees that the work can be done, I have offered to pay for it because I want to get it done and not spend months procrastinating about shares of cost. They will later resurface other parts of the drive at their cost and isn't a concern to me.

    Driveway Gradient help needed...

We could, but the driveway needs resurfacing anyway and this seemed like a more direct solution.

    Driveway Gradient help needed...

To see traffic to the left when you join the highway. There is a 1m fence on the other side and the view that was is perfect, we want to achieve the same effect to the left. By raising the surface of the drive, we'll be able to see over it. Problem (mostly) solved. (Hopefully).
