Heating pipework (flow/return) are usually installed in close proximity to one another so it would be a tad difficult to use a cross tee, same applies with potable pipework (hot/cold), back in the day pipework was installed within notched joists so the use of a cross tee would foul the pipe...

If you took the above photo @ 5.07 am then the clock is correct. Assuming the photo was taken @ 17.07 then the clock is either 12 hours fast or 12 hours slow.

The overheat stat would activate on the Circulator (Janus) and interrupt the pilot light.

Unless the feed to WC has been taken from the cold feed to cylinder (teed off @ lowest point). The cylinder would be the direct type if coupled to a Janus. The CWSC is possibly slow to fill in which case the WC cistern ran the cylinder dry (no gravity circulation through the Janus).

It clearly wasn’t “working pressure” but “burner pressure” that they were measuring on that Potterton Profile. The inlet/working pressure on that Potterton Profile would of also shown >21mb. Do you not know the difference between the burner pressure test point and inlet pressure test point on...

Ball-ache when trying to insert a tool in order to remove a stuck DOC washer, the other being the seating is not visable. Magnetite/debri will collect on the seating causing a blockage when opening the DOC, considering a tool can’t be inserted in order to clear the blockage then.....

Sorry but I don’t understand the above. I don’t understand this either. What point are you trying to make? Replacing a pump that is not integral to boiler and/or clearing a system blockage is a moot point as to whether the appliance is safe to use or not. Advice on the installation of nest etc...
