    Carpet loose after stretching

Seemed to be the most appropriate section, and where others seem to have posted carpet queries. I did think maybe "stairs floors etc" but that looked more about construction rather than carpets. That said, I've got no replies, so clearly you're right that it's in the wrong place. :-) Where...

    Carpet loose after stretching

Hi, I'm just in the process of putting down carpet, and am having a little trouble getting it to sit tight over the gripper rods. I'm fitting a polypropylene carpet (not sure what the backing is... either hessian or plastic equivalent I think) over 11mm foam underlay, using a knee kicker to...

    Corrosion on copper pipe

    Corrosion on copper pipe

It was a white pan scourer, as that's what I had... I assumed (incorrectly perhaps) that it is be pretty much the same thing. If I get a chance to go get a green one before the engineer takes a look tomorrow, I'll have another go at it. Thanks for the advice.

    Corrosion on copper pipe

Thanks. As soon as I'm back at the house I'm going to try cleaning it, as suggested. Then I'll take a photo and upload it.

    Corrosion on copper pipe

Thanks! That was what I was afraid of. We've got a gas engineer coming tomorrow, to quote for rerunning the pipe.

    Corrosion on copper pipe

We've just lifted the bathroom floor, and discovered what appears to be a 28mm gas pipe, with significant corrosion, apparently due to a water leak at some point in the past. The pipe is not currently leaking, however I am concerned that the corrosion might pose a risk in the future. So my...
