    Thanks, good to know it's normal to require lots of passes, most of the guides imply you do one pass with each grit. Will see what I can do about the paper coming off as you suggest too. Thanks again

    Hi All, I'm pulling up laminate flooring in a Victorian house and have found some underlay boards, potentially there for insulation. I think it's a long shot as I doubt the laminate is over 20 years old, but is there any chance this could be asbestos? Pics attached

    Thanks for the reply . No other major cracks like that, some much smaller, fairly typical cracks in paintwork, and an issue with the internal frame of the uPVC windows conning away from the wall by about 10mm in the lounge. Had a RICS survey a month or so ago and clear of damp.

    Interior uPVC frame pulling away from wall

    As in the title, moved to a new (old) house and found two of the uPVC windows have significant gaps between the internal frame and the wall. Any ideas on the cause and repair? Pics attached
