How to change the change a bath mixer tap cartridge

Hi all, I currently have a leak on my mixer tap. Normally, I'd happily just change the tap, but whoever tiled my bathroom, decided to not allow access via the tiled bath panel. Any idea how I remove the tap heads? There are no screws at the back. Guessing I just pull them up?

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

I'm no expert as you can tell, but I can't see how pipe no.2 can't be the hot feed from the boiler as it was considerably hotter than pipe no.1..... Surely that can't be correct? Seems like it's time to call in a pro I think. Hopefully, they can make sense of it

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

I'm pretty sure they don't move. This is something the engineer noticed, he seemed to think these should move when providing heat?

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

Bit of an update. I had my boiler replaced this week and the gas engineer had a nose at my UFH. He noticed that the feed to the pump (1) was cooler than the return (2) and this was confirmed by a thermal camera. He thinks the hot/cold have been installed back to front. He's happy to come back...

Vaillant EcoTech Plus 837 - F28 fault when heating is triggered

Good luck, let me know how it goes. As I mentioned, that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid, somebody guessing at my problem and getting it wrong at my expense.

Vaillant EcoTech Plus 837 - F28 fault when heating is triggered

Hi Jon, I haven't resolved it yet. Fortunately, so far I've been able to reset the boiler each time it's happened. I've been reluctant to throw money at an ageing boiler so close to spring (mine seems to break only when heating is needed) as my concerns were that a gas engineer might just be...

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

Actually, the numbers are easier to see on screen (I need glasses).....

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

The UFH isn't on at the moment and it's hard to read as there are no easily visible indicators on the glass. I think I can just about make out some numbers though, so I will take a look next time it's running. In its current off state, the flow indicators look to be at the top. Is that expected...

Sure, how do I do that? I'm new to UFH

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

Thanks, I will get it sorted in the summer, I've got other fires to put out at the moment. I know my boiler is constantly running when the UFH is on which is annoying, perhaps this is why?

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

Thanks, yeah as much as I hate my current install as I'm bleeding heat through the floor, I should probably get somebody in to see if anything can be done to improve anything in its current state. It will be a while before the other half lets me rip up the downstairs floor. Out of curiosity...

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

It's hard to say, as I don't have much access. The first photos in my other thread are a bit misleading, the pipes must go back up soon after that hole and I believe they sit on some board that sits over the joists, and the floor covering on top. The key thing is, no, or very little insulation.

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

Thanks, I will take a look. As you said, it looks like the flow temp is probably okay, it's a shame I'm trying to heat under my house due to my poor install . I'm going to have to rip up my floor at some point and will be replacing the UFH with a load of radiators.

Wet underfloor heating mixing valve settings

Hi, another question about my UFH. I've discussed previously on this forum about my poor UFH insulation - https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/spray-foam-underfloor-insulation.602155/#post-5375045 Due to the poor installation/insulation, my UFH doesn't heat the house very well at all. I...

New combi boiler recommendations for rads and WUFH

Rookie question. Do I call my provider, i.e. octopus and they will contact the the gas board? Will they attend without proof form a heating engineer?

New combi boiler recommendations for rads and WUFH

I had a chat with a friend today who lives on my road, he was in the process of getting his driveway dug up as he has a low-pressure gas supply. Apparently, there are a few on my road that have had the same issue. I've always suspected my boiler, but what are the chances that my issue could be...

Well I definitely have a hole under my house, I know that much. Here's my thread on the topic  https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/spray-foam-underfloor-insulation.602155/#post-5375045
