Are these screws ok for OSB3 on my flatroof?

I didn't use any glue for fixing the firrings, just screws and countersunk the ones where the firrings got thicker. I'm not sure I'd trust glue on its own but I'm only a diyer so one of pros might suggest otherwise.

Are these screws ok for OSB3 on my flatroof?

You'll fix your firrings to the joist first and then the OSB on top so the screws will pass through to the joist at the thinner end. Towards the thicker end make sure the firrings are adequately fixed to the joist where your screws won't reach the joist. Alternatively you could use longer...

loose floorboards on top of pipes

Hi Reg, thanks for the suggestion, I managed to chisel out a bit of a channel and put a glazing packer on each joist. Its not the best but at least its not resting on The pipe and doesn't make noise. I think it may be time for new boards in he new year. Cheers

Are these screws ok for OSB3 on my flatroof?

Hi SS, I've done a couple of flat roofs and used decking screws (for OSB use a length of at least 2.5x the thickness of the board). Those linked are for internal use only.

loose floorboards on top of pipes

Evening all, I lifted up the landing carpet tonight to investigate some loose floorboards that gave been bothering me for forever. I found that 3 pieces of floorboard have no screws or nails in them. Further investigation revealed that they are loose on top of some pipes. The plastic tee...

    Garden room planning queries

Hi DevilDamo, thank you so much for your really helpful and detailed response. I'll give it a bit of thought if planning permission or doing it away from the boundaries is the lesser of two evils. Cheers

    Garden room planning queries

Guys sorry if this has been done to death but I couldn't quite find an answer on google and wondered if anyone here could help please? I'm planning on building a garden room next year, I'd like it to be at least 3 metres wide but my garden is only 6.7 metres wide. As my garden is quite narrow...

    Posthole depth slightly short

Thanks Big-all, sounds good to me. I've got fencemate duraposts so it should be fairly easy to take a gravel board out at the bottom if any problems, they are the wickes 5 for 20 quid ones so I'm not too fussed if theres a small risk that 4 of them get destroyed having to reduce the height. Cheers

    Posthole depth slightly short

Hi Big-all, it was neglected for many years, remnants of 6 foot concrete fence posts, 1 foot concrete gravel boards, some cheapo fence panels covered in roof felt and lots of brambles and other junk dumped in a couple of foot of no mans land between the bottom of my and neighbours backig onto...

Standing water against rear house wall

Hi Guys, I'm after a bit more advice on this please. I've cut come channels in the concrete but its not had the desired result. The water is not flowing into the gully but still standing nearer the gully, I think I'd have to really butcher it to get it flowing and its starting to look a mess...

    Posthole depth slightly short

Well theres years of me thinking 2 metres = 7 foot exactly shattered. I've joined 2X 6 inch wooden gravel boards to make 1 foot ones, fairly easily rectified but I'll have a few left over now. Thanks for stopping me falling foul of planning, out of interest whats the worst that happens if you...

    Posthole depth slightly short

Its a 6 foot double palisade (I think its called, the ones with the planks of wood at alternative positions either side so ypu can't see through it but the wind passes through) with a 1 foot gravel board so 7 foot total. Its 4 panels at the bottom of the garden, houses behind it are set a...

    Posthole depth slightly short

Hi all, Just after some advice please if I'm worrying about nothing or not, have got some 3 metre metal fence posts and started digging the holes for them, I can only get the first one 65cm deep as there seems to be concrete/stone at the bottom that I can't get past with posthole diggers...

    How to colour concrete slabs.

I used some of this stuff recently https://www.coo-var.co.uk/products/floor-sport-and-line-marking/antislip-acrylic-floorpaint-grey-2.5l-new-product- Its not got a great deal of choice for colour (8 of them) and I can't speak for its longevity yet but I am loving my old new green patio and if I...

    Tanking shed wall, what's best?

Hi Ruggers, I used Ka tanking slurry to tank the walls and floor of my garage based on recommendations online, I also didn't read anything bad about it. I was also looking at Vandex BB75 but went with the KA as it was a lot cheaper. Only a DIYer and only did it last year but its working so far...

    First time fencing questions

Thanks Ktuludays, I'll look around locally and see whats on offer. Doing it right first time and not worrying about it for many years is exactly what I'm after. Too bad about the ground screws then spade time it is, I'm keen on having a go myself as I'll no doubt have lots of time on the weekend...
