    Another light switch question

I’ll trace all the wires to get a better idea, but assuming it’s one set of lights, why would I have 2 wires to one of the ports? Is typically as I initially thought? That is keeping the circuit when the switch is off?

    Another light switch question

And reference to the ‘when it can be done at the switch’ I’m not an electrician so am Curious as to why it’s done at the switch and not elsewhere. Don’t know if it is right or wrong. My loft has quite a few junction boxes...

    Another light switch question

Thanks for the swift reply. There are halogen spots in the room. Could it be that the room has been split in to two sets of lights? There’s only one switch and it switches on all of the lights in the room. The wires are all grey externally with red internal insulation.

    Another light switch question

So whilst replacing old light switches with new ones (nothing fancy this time just replacing scruffy ones with white ones) 2 rooms in my house have 2 wires going in to one of the ports and 1 wire going into the other. One has 2 into common and 1 in to l1 and the other 2 in to l1 and 1 into...

    3 way switch - remove the 3rd!

I did a better job of it and traced the switch back to a junction box in the loft. It all made a lot more sense at that point! Thanks again for the help! Next job is making the holes in the wall deep enough for the light wave switches without damaging other stuff o_O

    3 way switch - remove the 3rd!

Hi all. Sorry to bring up an old post but just getting around to the job. I want to remove an intermediated switch from a 3 way switching circuit (the landing). Here is a picture of the switch. Which wires do I connect together? I have wago’s and will be fitting a blanking plate

    3 way switch - remove the 3rd!

Thanks. It’s not really 2 way switching now they do it via software https://support.lightwaverf.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001449671-What-is-2-way-switching- I’ll connect the wires and go from there!!!

    3 way switch - remove the 3rd!

Thanks that’s kind of what I thought but now for the perhaps silly question... which wire connects to which?!

    3 way switch - remove the 3rd!

It’s the gen2 lightwave stuff so don’t need a wire for the slave

    3 way switch - remove the 3rd!

As I understand it if I leave the existing switch in and use it once the lightwave stuff is in it’ll fry it and I don’t want a switch that is not useable.

    3 way switch - remove the 3rd!

Sorry just spotted the auto correct. It should say reinvent it should say remove!

    3 way switch - remove the 3rd!

It’s not really needed as in 18 months I don’t think I’ve used the switch and it’s £60 for a lightwave switch!

    3 way switch - remove the 3rd!

Hi all, I’ve just registered having found lots of useful information on here. Hopefully someone can help me! My landing light can be controlled by 3 switches (from the hall and 2 on the landing). The hall and ‘main’ landing switches are 3 and 2 gang respectively and the 3rd is a single...
