Storm Henk: Lost a Ridge tile - Townhouse Height

Hi We live in a townhouse and lost just one Ridge tile as shown in the picture. What's the best way to fix it? As it's a town house I reckon this is not something one could claim up on the ladder to fix it. Does it need a whole scaffolding setup to replace this one Ridge tile? Is there any...

    TV Ariel Alternative

Hi We are doing some home renovation at the moment. As part of the work, we may have to move the current TV aerial socket to few feet away. While the builder is very well happy to move it, I'm just thinking about an alternative here. We are using TV only for YouTube at the moment, therefore...

    Combi or Impact driver

I'm also after this one - https://www.screwfix.com/p/mac-allister-mscd18-li-2-18v-1-5ah-li-ion-cordless-combi-drill/317fx but the reviews are not great and it's brushed(!) drill. And the reviews from wickes one is not great either. I'm trying to decide between wickes / screwfix one and...

    Combi or Impact driver

Hello again I've found this one in B&Q. Would this be a good choice. https://www.diy.com/departments/dewalt-xr-cordless-18v-1-3ah-li-ion-combi-drill-1-battery-dcd776c1-gb/765799_BQ.prd I know the battery is small - but I use it very occasionally.

    Combi or Impact driver

Thanks. The mistake I did was, I spent £100+ on a bosch sds+ as my concrete wall was very hard to drill. Now I've to spend another £70 ish on combi. And I'm just a diy starter. So I was thinking if I could use an adaptor in sds+ which would do what the normal combi does. As its a no-no, I was...

    Combi or Impact driver

Thanks for the suggestions. Would this one be a good choice? https://www.diy.com/departments/bosch-680w-240v-corded-keyless-chuck-hammer-drill-psb680re/195931_BQ.prd I dont want to have both SDS and Combi. So if I have this one, I think I can use it for both drilling and screws?

    Combi or Impact driver

Thanks much for the reply. Before I go with combi, can I ask another question. If I buy SDS adaptor which can take standard screw / drill bits, can I use it like combi. i.e. I can insert standard screw bit and put wood screws in floorboards...

    Combi or Impact driver

I've a Bosch SDS Plus (GBH 2-26) which I use to put holes in concrete. I'm going to do some work in my floors and I'll have to put some additional wood screws in floor boards. I think (I'm a new diy-er) I obviously can't use my SDS plus to put wood screws in floorboard. So I'm now looking for...

    Help: Which underlay?

Bought them yesterday - They were indeed (very) heavy. They were in original duralay package. The cost was £55 per 15m2 - Cheap. Thanks for your time and help. :)

    Help: Which underlay?

It seems like the only difference between DIY and PRO is the size, everything else is same. But they sell DIY (10m2) for £34 and PRO (15m2) for £58. Looks like buying DIY one is even cheaper than PRO.

    Help: Which underlay?

Hi, They are expensive than I thought. Can I ask you a quick (last) question. Is this same underlay in terms of quality. The price looks ok. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TIMBERMATE-EXCEL-UNDERLAY-DURALAY-15-Sq-m-FOR-LAMINATE-WOOD-FLOORING/274348912957? Thank you.

    Help: Which underlay?

Sure. I bought them from screwfix (guess it was also duralay timbermater, but sold as woodtex) when we did our ground floor. Guess each weighs around 20kg
