    Sticking a threshold bar

Ok I cut the bar to size, and before gluing it, I realized the door is too low so it won't close properly without rubbing against it (and stripping the paint/making horrible noises). This is what I got...

    Slate white-ish after grouting

Hello, we recently laid a slate patio. After the builders applied the jointing compound (Gftk Vdw 850-plus), the slabs developed a horrible white hue. When they are wet you don't notice it, as soon as they dry, it's horrible. Nothing compared to what they were dry before the grout was applied...

    Sticking a threshold bar

I need to put a threshold bar between the bathroom (tiles) and the engineered wood ouside. They are both perfectly level and there is a gap between. The issue is that underneath I have underfloor heating pipes, which I'm finding very tricky to find, so I'm kind of afraid of drilling into the...

    Fitting outside tap

What's a reasonable quote for that job? Which a plumber would probably do in less than 20 minutes compared with the 4 hours that it would take me :)

    Fitting outside tap

Internally as in inside the house? How can I do this is the pipe is inside the render and then goes under the wall and under the floor to where the main tap is? (basically the mains rise up to the tap, then from there it goes below ground again to feed the cold water to the rest of the house...

    Fitting outside tap

Actually what I do have is this, which is already outside. Is it the one I need?

    Fitting outside tap

It's impossible. The pipe goes inside the wall then goes down below ground to join the pipes coming from the mains tap. It's already plastered etc so I can't see the pipe inside (judging from it it doesn't seem I have one of those as I doubt they fitted one in the wall or under the floor)

    Fitting outside tap

How can I check if I have one? The tap itself has one (https://www.screwfix.com/p/outside-tap-with-double-check-valve-15mm-x/37241)

Mixing two jointing grouts for patio

Hello, we are lying a patio with slate and started with Gftk Vdw 850-plus in Stone Grey which we really liked and got it along with the slabs. We initially got a single 25kg tub that was not enough, got a second one but it's still not enough. It's really expensive (plus we need to add delivery...

    Fitting outside tap

Ehh kind of.. I'd need to get a soldering iron as I don't have one.. a plastic joint would not work?

    Fitting outside tap

Ah ok thats the one I got actually. But what else do i need to connect the pipe to the joint? Another joint or a piece of extra copper pipe?

    Fitting outside tap

How would you connect this to the existing pipe that sticks out the wall? The pipe bends inside the wall and goes towards the floor so I don't have access the pipe from inside the house

    Fitting outside tap

Hi, I have a super basic question. I have to fit an outside tap to an existing copper pipe. The pipe just sticks out of the wall, currently has a makeshift tap that the builders were using, but it's basically a copper pipe sticking out. I bought what I thought I needed which is the tap...

    Brick bbq question

Hello I am having a bbq built in the garden. It will be made of bricks. At about half height there is a base (not sure this is the right word, just to clarify this is not the base of the structure), on top of which we will put the charcoal and then the actual grill. Please see picture for...

    Help to understand UFH components

Just out of curiosity I wanted to understand what each component is doing in my system. I have just installed a combi boiler that will heat the HW, as well as UFH in an extension and the radiators in the rest of the house. We wanted to have two zones: one for the UFH and another one for the...
