    Shower tray/tiling gap

Just use silicon, enough to fill all the gaps and holes but not too much so its visible.

Garage roof joist sizing and span - does this seem ok?

Thats exactly what I thought but some wood suppliers suggest it is also stronger as below https://www.daviestimber.co.uk/blogs/news/pressure-treated-timber "Strength. Pressure treated timber has stronger properties than untreated timber, so can stand much more force. When installed it will...

Garage roof joist sizing and span - does this seem ok?

Ok thanks looks like it will have to be 125mm @ 400mm spacing. Seems like overkill especially when my old shed is only using 50mm thick joists!

Garden out building extending the roof - is this allowed?

Hi, I have a concrete garage at the end of my garden, its 2.5M X 5M right on the boundary. I'd like to turn into a workshop. I'm planning on replacing the roof but want to make it larger so it overhangs making the roof 3M X 6M. So the internal building will remain the same at 12m2 but the roof...

Price of a small load of ready mixed concrete?

Thanks you'd convinced me to do it myself, £200 materials, £30 mixer hire...but then.. I had one final quote come back £255 all in for concrete delivered and barrowed to where I need it. Can't argue with that :)

Price of a small load of ready mixed concrete?

Price of a small load of ready mixed concrete?

Hi, I'm looking to order 1.3 m3 of concrete for a shed base. A quick google search tells me the average price is £75 per m3 plus delivery (from checkatrade link below). So I'm thinking about £200. I've had 2 quotes and both have been over £450. Am I being over quoted? I'm based in Birmingham...

Suspected collapsed drain - Who is responsible?

Wow great diagram thanks. If its correct then the problem drain would be responsibility of the water company, good news for me and the neighbour. Their extension was certainly built before 2011

Suspected collapsed drain - Who is responsible?

Hi, We think the drain leaving our property may have collapsed right under our neighbours rear extension. We are at the top end of a run so the drains all flow downwards from our house. The collapse does not affect out neighbour as their drains connect up after the collapse. Who is responsible...
