Flat Roof Overhang and Fascia Board [Drawings]

@Leofric I'd like to do my own drawings if possible, because I'm in no rush for the project, and I have the free time, it's fun and it really is a great learning experience. That does mean I have to do it right, and i'm not one to give up because hesitation is defeat. So could you go over some...

Flat Roof Overhang and Fascia Board [Drawings]

Hi, all Side elevation Rear elevation I have drawn the Fascia board on the Flat Roof level all around. Is this correct? Also most Flat roofs I see don't have an overhang. I have a 250mm overhang, is this ok? Are there restrictions to having one? Does my kerb edge trim and guttering plan...

Correct Flat Roof Joist Sizes [Drawing]

As @noseall said, I wish to insulate the back of the fascia board and soffit to prevent cold spots and condensation. Ah, I see, I was clearly measuring it wrong. Thank you for the correction. So this means that these 170x45 joist are fine to use? Is 0.25 kN/m2 the Imposed Dead Load for a...

Roof Height Limit to Window for PD [Drawings]

@Nakajo Haha, my main reasoning was that I assumed there would be a rule similar to the 45 degree / right to light rule for any window that may become covered/shadowed by new buildings. But I now know there is not, so all good.

Roof Height Limit to Window for PD [Drawings]

@^woody^ I see.(y) The reason for asking was because the proposed extension roof's height could block light to the existing window. But now I go as you suggested and take advantage of the full 4m and ignore the window:)

Roof Height Limit to Window for PD [Drawings]

@catlad The extension's height is OK because the ceiling height is 2.4m. So there's no need to put a new window in the existing building as the extension height can be adjusted. So does the extension have to below the window?

Roof Height Limit to Window for PD [Drawings]

Hi, Does the maximum height for a single story rear extension using a gable or hip roof have to below the existing window? Or can the I go above the window as long as I stay under the 4m PD rules? I can't find anything on the planning portal unfortunately. For example , in this drawing...

Confused on Extension Roof Pitch and PD and PP

Thanks for all the replies, I've been away a while so I might be bringing up an old thread but to continue; As many of you pointed out, at 5m on a pitched roof is not feasible. Confused on Extension Roof Pitch and PD and PP

@tony1851 Great points however sorry you can't see from this drawing, but there will be daylight to the existing rear room because of a existing window which means is it not necessary for rooflights I assume. But a flat roof with lantern does sound good, however I am wondering if that would be...
