    Tightening up an old Tap

hello, thanks for the replies, it’s the very top X shaped bit that you turn. When it’s fully off tight it doesn’t move, but when you open it slightly to let water run, it becomes very wobbly, but just that top X piece.

    Tightening up an old Tap

Hi All, I wonder if you lovely people could help me, we have an old tap on the bathroom sink and when you turn it on it becomes really wobbly and loose in your hand. I've included a picture to show the faulty tap. In my experiences of taps in the past, I assumed that the white bit on the top...

Atlantic F127 Electric Heaters not turning off

Ah ok, I'm not convinced the landlord hasnt just stuck something really inadequate in, these heaters are £85 each, surely 2 of those is not whats needed to heat a house, they are tiny and could have just gone to argos and bought 2 basic heaters.

Atlantic F127 Electric Heaters not turning off

Hi Chris, Thanks for the reply, only 5 minutes or so but you can still feel the heat blasting out, whereas if I unplug I notice a change almost straight away so it just seems to be staying on, the main time and each day day seem correct. This is brand new and just been installed. I'll take...

Atlantic F127 Electric Heaters not turning off

Hi There, Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of an Atlantic F127 electric heater? They seem simple enough, it has 2 modes Basic and Prog and the manual says Basic means manual, so set the temp and it will kick in or out depending on the current temperature, and Prog whereby it should...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

As attached everything on, last night turned one of the storage heaters on as well at the wall, set it to input 1 and output 1 as a test and nothing this morning. No water and no heat from the heater So it’s just not kicking in overnight, Nothing seems to happen I’ve asked my friend to contact...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

Hi there, yes all switches up, I tried the immersion on its own and nothing so thought I’d just switch them all in case they were labelled incorrectly I’ve opened the cap and taken a photo, it looks different to the one you sent but the hole on the left between the 2 screws is maybe a reset...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

Hello All, Im really sorry to trouble you again, at the weekend we finally tested the immersion, by switching all 4 trip switches on at the consumer unit and the main ECU etc, but the hot water did not heat overnight it’s all turned on, just nothing at all happened is there anything simple...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

Hi there, I’ve attached a pic of the boiler and one of the boost, now I look again I have no reason to believe the wires are the wrong way round at the bottom, I thought the bottom one had a light on it that was lit up and therefore because the consumer unit was off for the off peak stuff it...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

Ah ok, yeh I’m getting to grips with this now, I’ll send some pictures tomorrow to clarify a couple of bits, I just want it to be right as the person living there is so worried about all this and the expense of the bills etc, I just want it clear and easy for them the boost isn’t a switch it’s...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

You are so much help honestly thank you so much for taking the time to respond I’m at the house tomorrow so will send some pictures of the tank, I read also that the boost only heats the top half of the tank, but that confused me because it looks to me like the wire at the bottom of the tank is...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

Thank you so much, that’s correct it’s turned off currently and the boost is being used once each day for an hour and that provides enough hot water for the whole day, it doesn’t get used again I’m wondering if switching the overnight heat on instead, although at a cheaper rate will likely...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

Hi Stem, Ah ok I think I'm with you, what I'm concerned about is using the convector part because as you say thats more expensive so should only be used if required and not as the norm. So just to make sure I'm reading this right, if I charge the heater up say half way overnight, then it will...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

Hi Stem, That video is a huge help, the only thing I'm not grasping is how you use the economy 7 over night charged heat compared to using the convertor heat. In the video when the guy presses the up and down arrows that appears to be turning the heat output up or down using your standard...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

Hi, Thank you all very much for the help, the video was great and a massive help! In answer to the Last question, Heater 2 has 2 wires which baffled me big time, is that because the night rate is basically another ring in the house? so this heater has one connection on the normal day rate...

    Economy 7 / Storage Heaters

Hi there, thanks for the reply, yes that makes sense, both 1&2 do have feet and stand on the floor as well I found it strange that heater 2 doesn’t have input dials so assume that means it just fully charges at max over night and you can’t set it lower like you can heater 1?
