    Fixed it. I vacuumed the sump, it had a thinish layer of ‘ash’ in it, but I’ve no idea why this should mean the boiler would now work as designed.

    L/F is Flame lock yes. The flame gets turned off when there is no ion stream picked up by the steel flame detector rod.

    Where do I go now? I’m getting Flame Lock although I’ve replaced the sensor and the control box. I’ve also had an occasional 0/3 bars in the last few days.

    That looks good. I had turned it off on the boiler and it had made no difference, but after leaving for an hour and turning off at the fused spur. It’s now working again. Thanks

    The boiler has been going to L/F which we have needed to reset perhaps once a day for the last couple of weeks but has now changed to 0/3bars, like an’E’ without the vertical part. It’s not in the manual and Ideal are saying registered and we’ll send someone out to have a look. Probably to say...
