Thanks for the tips guys, there is quite a lot of water pressure and the floor slopes into the workshop. If I turn the spring off it will stop water for every house in the lane as it comes to me first. I'm not even sure how to do it or where the spring is as it's on the estate land. It sounds...

Here are some photos. There is a stop tap in the house but the workshop comes off before it. There is no tap in the street like a town house. I'm not on mains water so none of the normal stuff applies I guess. Pipe is 22mm.
