OK, I think the issue is the rubber ring came out somehow, I've just felt around and found a rubber ring. I've put it where I assume it goes and things are a lot more snug. Thanks for all the help.

OK so I found the filling loop and put it up to a hair over 1 bar and reset the boiler. Since then it has gone up to 2bar but still not hot water or heating in the hour since I have done that.
