Hello,
My oil-fired boiler is not providing any hot water and is only heating the upstairs radiator.
The pump is red hot; I have removed the front screw and checked the spindle and it appears loose (in a good way, it moves).
Every 20 minutes or so the boiler starts making a racket as if it is trying to operate then just stops.
It isn't indicating lockout. The pressure is about 0.7 bar.
I had a similar problem about 6 months ago which resulted in the company who services my boiler replacing the diverter valve and control board which ended up costing me about £500, so for the problem to reoccur is very annoying.
Is there anything I can do before calling out the plumber (assuming they will come during lockdown)?
Many thanks
