    No..I know the basics..I've dropped ceilings and installed down lights.I am asking if I decide to drop the ceiling how and can I connect the on.off on the wall light to the wiring .hence three blacks one white and earth

    Ok cheers am thinking if I dropped the ceiling and put down lights in (I've done a few times)would it be easier and if so how would I connect the switch on the wall light to turn on..off.or am I being a bit stupid and not seeing what's in front of me?

    So does this apply if your lifting the floorboards? Bernardgreen with wiring the switch if you want to use the switch as I am getting a little lost with that.

    Safe zones ? ( do you mean following the existing wiring layout) sorry just found the post on safe zones I've done a lot of wiring but never wall lights from scratch.plus the actual wall lights have 3 black wires and a white one besides the earth wire.

    Hi all.just wondering if you can connect wall lights to to the back of a plug socket outlet or lift the floorboards and wire them from an existing ceiling light feed.many thanks.
