    Writing Arduino Code

I think I may have cracked it! Once I'd worked out I needed to instal millisDelay into the library, the changes were actually quite simple. I've also reduced the current sample period by a second - all good. The millis overflow issue shouldn't affect it either, as the workbench is switched off...

    Writing Arduino Code

Many thanks for everyone's help so far. Thanks for the link, I think I've stumbled across that page already - embarrassingly, it didn't offer me any eureka moments. I will study it again & see if any pennies drop. That would be fantastic if you get a chance! Many thanks. My soldering iron...

    Writing Arduino Code

No need to apologise - I need all the help I can get! I'll hopefully get back onto this tomorrow evening. Many, many thanks for your help so far.

    Writing Arduino Code

If I can get it to compile, I'm uploading it & testing it in a real world environment.

    Writing Arduino Code

#define CURRENT_SENSOR_PIN A0 // Current sensor is connected to analog pin A0 #define RELAY_PIN 2 // Relay module is connected to digital pin 2 #define RELAY_LOGIC LOW //Set to LOW if your relay is activated by a ground signal. Set to HIGH if your relay is activated by a 5V signal. If your relay...

    Writing Arduino Code

I wish to trigger a fume extraction unit when I pick up my soldering iron. The iron is a JBC that is set to hibernate (no heat) when in the holder. I have the Arduino connected to a current sensor to monitor the extra current drawn when the iron is heating. I took the Arduino code from a guy who...

    Writing Arduino Code

I don't suppose anyone on here is handy with Arduino code writing? I'm completely new to code writing & struggling to translate everything I've read/watched into something that makes sense! I've used somebody else's code as a template & made some adjustments to certain parameters. This works to...

    Russ Andrews super Fuse !!

These "Superfuses" are just Bussman fuses that they have subjected to a "super burn-in" process & rebranded. Probably sticking some high frequency signal through them or something. Whatever they perceived to make them sound better cost £250k in research (allegedly).

    Honda FR-V pulling to left

You don't mention tyres? I've had various issues with different FWD vehicles, fit two new matching front tyres - suddenly like a new car.

Gurgling in or near an upstairs rad.

I had this issue with the first rad on the system, gurgled like mad & probably gained a quarter of its size in air over the course of a year. Solved by reducing the pump speed by one click. I think over pumping can induce air through the F&E pipe. Maybe worth a try, mine functions silently now...

What caused an accident. Broken half-shaft?

Here's another one - minor damage to the Golf.

    Dash cam

I used to have one of those Mottie, while it was fundamentally a good camera, I found that it didn't take long for the internal Li-Po battery to fail due to the extremes of temperature in the cabin. This means that when you turn the ignition off, the unit dies immediately, meaning that it...

    Budget car tyres

I wholeheartedly agree with this & would never mix n' match brands on the same axle. I bought a Juke Nismo RS some years ago, great condition but didn't drive very well - pulled to the left under heavy acceleration & to the right under deceleration. No uneven wear. Had the alignment checked &...

I've messed up - electric shock after plastering wall

Anyone think the protruding mounting screw & conductor would have been mighty close when the switch was in place originally?

Third for espares. Also check www.ransomspares.co.uk - can sometimes be a tad cheaper.

Fused wall heater won’t turn off at wall

This looks like an arrangement where the storage heater also has an integrated convector heater. The fused switch probably controls the convector heater & will be connected to the on peak supply, so you can use it at any time for a boost. I think the red switch & thermostat in your pic are the...

    electric towel rail too hot

My folks had the same issue with a 250W towel rail. After finding this (now discontinued) and overpriced product: https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/DX4124.html I installed a 400W rated dimmer switch in an adjacent cupboard & fashioned a scale on the front with a Dymo. Works a treat.

    Adaptive Headlights

My 2010 Peugeot RCZ had headlights that "see" round corners, very good they were too. Not quite as good as the Citroen DS, but good none the less. My 2014 Focus has auto dip headlights, while they are very good at what they do - they aren't quite good enough, so I disabled them. Mainly for the...

Single wall socket connected to two Mini Circuit Breakers.

Of course - thanks TTC. Bit of a brain fart this evening! Not being an electrician, I don't live & breath this stuff every day! Thanks for clearing that up. Luckily, I don't think the OP wants to spur from the added socket, so FCU issue averted. Thanks too to EFLI.

Single wall socket connected to two Mini Circuit Breakers.

I'm interpreting this as follows: There are two ring final circuits, upstairs & downstairs. There is a single socket in the garage that is part of the downstairs ring final that the OP wishes to spur another socket from. There is another single socket in the garage that has been added at a later...
