Thanks Terry. They seem well and truly stuck. Have you seen this type of fixing before? I am replacing the rail so damage won't be a problem provided I don't damage tiles.

Hi, can anyone help please? I am trying to remove an old shower rail/riser but have had no success so far and do not want to force it. Please see pictures attached. The top and bottom brackets look like they have a removable plate each but they wont shift. Thanks.
