    Legit MS Office?

I'm late to the party but I purchased a deal like this (£9.98) from Groupon a few weeks ago and it was fine. The installation was seamless and the key worked no problem. New Outlook installed no problem too. Check that the version being sold includes future updates. Some don't.

    Reseal a Walk-in Shower Cabinet

Hi folks, I have a walk-in shower cabinet in my bathroom. It was installed around eight years ago and I have a black mould problem. I am happy to pay someone to reseal the shower cabinet but I'm not sure what this is going to involve. The mould has gotten down into the glass panel mountings...

    Leaky Cistern

Thanks again Rob. I won't take the chance because it seems to be hitting a hard stop when I turn it.

    Leaky Cistern

So, I contacted Geberit and they said it was the type 260 or equivalent Rob. I tried to remove it as, shown in the video above. The video shows it being turning 90deg anticlockwise and lifting out. Mine won't turn beyond about 60deg, and no matter how hard I pull at it, it just will not budge. I...

    Leaky Cistern

I think I have now identified this as a Geberit flush valve (223.008.21.1), which is now discontinued. As you can see in the attached images, I can turn this around 45° in either direction but it will not pull out. I can't see any clips that could be used to release it either. Anyone any ideas...

    Leaky Cistern

Cheers Rab. I did some more digging and I think it's more like a TYP240. This looks like it may be the solution. I'll have another go at it tomorrow.

    Leaky Cistern

I have a downstairs loo with a leaky cistern, see picture of cistern with lid removed. The valve is clearly not seating properly so it's constantly leaking into the WC. How big a job is it to fix or replace this? I was going to try to remove it to have a look but it all feels quite flimsy and...

    Roof Retiling

I am considering having my roof retiled but I have no idea how much this will cost. Can anyone suggest what a typical price for a three bed end terrace house would be? I know there several factor that would affect the price but at this stage I'm only looking for an idea. Also would the price be...

Really? If that was the case and I was a customer I would give you a wave and think I had a lucky escape.

Waste coming back into toilet bowl

Thank you but to me it doesn't look like a blockage. As I say the flush appears quick and normal, no backing up as the pan empties.

Waste coming back into toilet bowl

for the last few days waste seems to be back feeding into my downstairs toilet bowl. It cleans and flushes quickly with no apparent problem but after a while some waste appears in the bowl again. Is this coming from the drain in the street? I was thinking a blockage outside but when flushed the...

Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarms (New Scotland Legislation)

I need to upgrade my smoke alarms as a result of the new legislation in Scotland. I live in a three bedroom end terrace house with hall stairs and upper landing. My Combi boiler is in the cupboard under the stairs. My understanding is that I need linked alarms with one in the living room, one...

    Sealing a shower cubicle

One side of my shower cubicle has a slight leak through the silicone sealant. This has also gunged up with a brown fungus. I need to clear it out to reseal it and I'm going to have a go at doing it myself. What's the best way to get the old sealant out? (See pictures)

Boiler Baxi Duo-Tec 33 Combi ErP - Time to reach temperature?

I have a Baxi Duo-Tec 33 Combi ErP combi boiler and it works well enough. The only problem is the time it takes to reach hot water temperature. When I turn on the hot water it can take from 30 seconds to one minute to reach full flow temperature. Sometimes it seems to almost reach temperature...
