    No worries at all .

    Surely this is wrong.......

I’m sure there are plenty but it looks like our property agents can only find this cowboy. Reading all the responses on here makes me realise I need to get back on to them.

The transformers are away. The lights are mains powered. On closer inspection, these new light fittings appear to be plastic. The Robus light is also away. I may well be wrong here, but I reckon the clown who did this (to avoid running the wire from the light that replaced the Robus unit) has...

    Surely this is wrong.......

Here you are. Still looks a bit amateur. Perhaps my earlier post describing it as a “safe job” was mis-guided. As I said in my OP, I’m not an electrician.........

We just found this in one of the cupboards where the new lights were fitted........... WTF? Just as well I hadn’t already sent a ‘Thank you’ message to the property agents. Guess what the topic’s going to be now!

    Surely this is wrong.......

I suspect if such a thing was issued it would have been passed to the property agent.

I only see a live and neutral wire coming from behind the plate where I assume the light is connected to the supply. Could that mean the fittings are double insulated?

Well, the guy that came back looked the same but this time did a proper and safe looking job of replacing all the lights, and no exposed wiring...........

    Surely this is wrong.......

I spoke to our property management firm yesterday who seemed completely unphased by my concerns over poor electrical work and told me the electrician had already said he’d be returning to “finish the work” - news to us. Furthermore, I was told me the electrician had said it was fine as he’d...

    Surely this is wrong.......

We live in a private rental property so anything like that would go directly to the property management company. I’ve made them aware of my concerns so I’m assuming they’ll instruct the electrician to make amends. Thanks pcaouolte.

    Surely this is wrong.......

Thank you both for your responses. The light in the first image is indeed connected to a mains supply, taken from the mains feed to the transformer. This transformer powers another (12v) under-cabinet light. From what you both indicate, it wouldn’t be unreasonable for me to expect this to be...

    Surely this is wrong.......

I am not an electrician and this is NOT my work. The under-cabinet light fitting is metal and plastic as can be seen in the first picture. There are live, neutral and earth wires clearly visible inside the fitting, however, at the other end, where the fitting is connected to the mains, the earth...
