    Replacing underfloor heating thermostat

Sorry, I didn't see post #4, as I was writing at the same time. Looking at your photo, the thermostat is controlling the actuator of a wet UFH system, rather than powering an electric heating mat. A thermostat with a 3A switching rating *should* be sufficient (depending on your actual system...

    Replacing underfloor heating thermostat

It's a switched live output on L1 on the existing stat - no need for any other wires; the neutral (to the load) could be connected anywhere (hopefully from the same circuit). The new stat would simply require a short link wire between L (2) and COM (5). The black wire would then connect to NO...

New Euro cylinder lock stuck with key inside and lock not working

Sorry, probably not helpful, but may help with troubleshooting.. Since taking the old lock out, have you tested it? If the old eurocylinder moves freely, the issue could have been with the lock mechanism from the beginning.

    Adrian Newey to Ferrari?

"How to build a car", by Newey is well worth a read. It's amazing how much he has achieved; beng one of the last people who has an overview of every aspect of the car, rather than engineers today that due to the vastness of the subject (and through no fault of their own), can only specialise in...

Even the MIs aren't clear... I believe (guess!), the indicators show the state of the socket and the second (additional) outlet - edit, in this case the fan.

Hive components advice (for adding to HomeAssistant)

As far as I know, there is little difference between the receivers, one is simply an update of the other. Whether this has any impact on Zigbee compatibility, I'm afraid I don't know. Similarly, there isn't much difference between the SLT3 and SLT3C - some cosmetic changes, a silver knob...

Why isn't 3-core cable the standard for lighting circuits?

Over on the plumbing forum, posters who have new builds often want to change their 'stats to smart 'stats. The second heating zone may have a simple battery powered, two wire 'stat installed, but the wiring behind it is 3 core + earth. Several times, the poster has simply taken the spare core...

Replacement glass panel for a front door?

Is this a wooden front door, or uPVC?

    UPVC seals/condensation

I may be wrong, but that looks to me as if it is the joint between the frame and the glazing bead. The black gunk can be scraped out of the joint, and any surface muck can be cleaned off - No need for bleach, it's unlikely to be ingrained into the plastic. If there is a build up of moisture...

Selling Scaffolding. How/is there a market for it?

Yes, it's part of a tower - we had some hanging around our work place. We had to scrap them, as they are now totally unsuitable for use in an HSE abiding work environment! There may be alternative uses for a DIY'er, they are pretty solid and could be used as stands for a workbench, etc. But for...

setting downIoad location in windows 10

4GB is the maximum file size supported by a FAT32 file system - some large USB drives are still pre-formatted as FAT32. If this was the case, reformat the drive as NTFS, or exFAT and see if that helps.

setting downIoad location in windows 10

Not answering your original question, but it's probably worth doing a disk clean up - also select the "Clean up system files" option.
