Sailing

I think after the info you have provided. I am ready as a racing crew member.
No need for col regs - just learn to shout "hey hey hey we're racing" at anyone who doesn't get out of your way. I have a race in a couple of weeks across the channel.

I've been a crew member on a couple of cruiser races. The absolute minimum you should get are some good gloves - I learnt that the hard way after ripping my hands to shreds on the ropes. We did quite well in the race though!

@RandomGrinch there are no ropes on boats

Club races are fun, particularly those where the handicap is based on the performance of the boat and crew, rather than the rating of the boat.

my race ?

Yes. We start at sunset. Get there for breakfast. We will run a watch system 4 hours on / 4 hours "sleeping". Min. 2 crew on watch. I have a Cowes to St Malo one later in the year.

Here's my old girl, we said goodbye sometime around 2010, maybe a bit later. I still miss her, occasionally.
