    As above looks ok in there. Running waste into a gulley traps dirty water in the trap of the gulley which can then smell, esp in summer. Imo get your nose in there and see where the smell is coming from, find cause of problem then find soution.

    Parts not available, as you'll only lift the lid once every few years, lave as is. The only need for hinges is to stop you losing the lid. Perhaps there was drainage there before your place was built. Jeremy Corbyn will be able to give a more precise age on it...
