    Is boiler underspec?

They used some equipment to test the output on the radiators and it was around the 60-65C mark. So that means the boiler is running at 65C? In which case I can measure the gas consumption for 3 minutes. Not done this before but I am sure it is fairly straight forward. Thanks

    Is boiler underspec?

An update... Boiler was set to 65C Heatlink was relocated in an easier place for me to access (not in the loft). Engineer tested the flow output/return of the radiators (63C) and they were aligned to the boiler output 65C. Temp on the Nest thermostat display did not get past 19C even after 3...

    Is boiler underspec?

I think based on above I will ask engineers to increase boiler output to 65C or thereabouts. When I told them that before they advised me that that would not be efficient! They don't seem to want to listen to me. I am also wondering if the HeatLink is too close to the boiler. It is located...

    Is boiler underspec?

My rads don't produce enough heat at 55c, but the engineers advised that the rads do not need replacing. Interesting..

    Is boiler underspec?

My preb My house is early 1900s and the boiler was over 20 years old a Potterton. It did heat the house well but was not efficient.

    Is boiler underspec?

Yes that was my thinking. I think the engineers should set the boiler output higher and retest. Sounds like they dont know how to work with Google Nest devices and it is all smoke and mirrors.

    Is boiler underspec?

Ok that's nice to know. Thanks And no, the rads are not oversized for the rooms they're in. I can get the engineers to increase the boiler output to 60c or thereabouts when they visit tomorrow. 60c or higher? It is in the loft so a no go for me as I have a disability.

    Is boiler underspec?

I am not sure if this can be done, but I will ask them. What I did find out was that my previous boiler was 24kw and has been replaced it with an 18kw. When I queried this the engineers advised me that the boiler I have now will be more efficient. Wish my Gas bill would reflect this. The...

    Is boiler underspec?

Waiting for the engineer to do this as they recently installed the boiler, and it is in the loft. I thought it was in the 60s if I remember

    Is boiler underspec?

The last engineer that serviced the boiler told me. But it is possible I misheard, and he was talking about something else. I cant say for certain. OK

    Is boiler underspec?

Yes, the boiler replacement was installed 2 weeks ago. I on't think a heat loss survey was carried out. I will confirm but pretty sure not. Thanks for that.

    Is boiler underspec?

I have sent the heating engineers an email, so hopefully they will resolve the issue for me. It is a heat only oiler by the way located in the loft which is a no go for me due to my disability

    Is boiler underspec?

I am using a Google Nest and schedules and self-learning have been removed. There seemed to be an issue when the Thermostat was connected to WIFI in that the temp would stay at 16C. Disconnecting the thermostat from the network allowed the temp to get to around 19C, still not enough though...

    Is boiler underspec?

The heating never reached above 19C despite being set to say 24C. The old boiler used to heat the house very quickly and alot higher than 19c

    Is boiler underspec?

Are you saying the boiler should be adjusted from 55C to 75C? I did another test, and the heating will only get as far as 19C. I placed the temp reader in various locations of the house.

    Is boiler underspec?

Were any radiators replaced when the boiler was installed? No Have you tried not heating the whole house? (if you don't have any modern control gear, just turn off 2 or 3 less needed radiators (usually bedrooms) at the start of a heating period, see if/how quickly the heated areas achieve...
