Fixing timber frames to interior brick wall for floating bench.

I guess not fully floating, because of the 3 walls it can have support from, so i hope it would be pretty stable.

Fixing timber frames to interior brick wall for floating bench.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Is there an easy way to check what weight they would support. I guess i will need to check the data specification sheet and try to work that out... From the looks of what I can see, they are meant to support a heavy load. I didnt plan to remove the arial or...

Ah I believe this house is 1950s but how do resin fixings work out of curiosity? What kind of screw is needed? I'll do some research.

Fixing timber frames to interior brick wall for floating bench.

Thanks i went online (and actually to the shop to take a look for myself) and It looks very promising. Seems like a good fit for purpose. Looked at these or variation of these (90mm) because my timber would be 2x3(37mm thick)

Fixing timber frames to interior brick wall for floating bench.

The idea was as follows: 1. The bench would be slightly higher than the rough example in the post description. 2. The bench would be about 10-15cm above sockets but ofcourse id be extra cautious with any area there. There is a socket that's quite low hidden behind the breast. I'm quite sure it...

Fixing timber frames to interior brick wall for floating bench.

Hey, Been reading a lot online and I originally thought it would be a simple answer but doesn't seem like it. What screw would I be best off using for fixing wood frames to the brick wall so it can support a persons weight (or 2)? Leaning towards regular frame fixings but others are...

Best way patching holes in plaster (on indoors brick)?

Thanks all for the advice, I decided to put the hardwall base coat into the patches of open brick and then fill in with easy fill compound as I will definetely not achieve as good or close to good look as any professional here would. I dont think I could skim whole wall properly using finish...

Best way patching holes in plaster (on indoors brick)?

Edit: ignore the plasterboard infront of opening, it's to stop cats from getting inside. And the opening will not be used for solid or gas fires.

Best way patching holes in plaster (on indoors brick)?

Hey everyone, Long story short, I got two big patches of plasterboard ripped out either side of the chimney breqst builders opening. I plan to use Thistle base coat (hardwall) into the large patches. After that I plan to apply multifinish coat. Is that okay? Should I also cover the small...

Expanding chimney breast opening - advice needed

Yep all ground floor, initially it looked too neat for me too to consider it the original builders opening. But the gather caught me of guard with it being so low. Also soot on left side.

Expanding chimney breast opening - advice needed

It is we think 1950-60s approx. First documents appear at that time. The flue goes up and right. I'm afraid that the left side may be hollow and the real jamb is what we see now. Might leave it like it is since ita for decorative purposes anyway. Probably just going to plasterboard...

    Widening builders opening - Feasable?

Sorry should have mentioned because its not clear, the lintel in the second image can be seen above my head. And it is exactly 15cm wider than the opening on each side. It is shared.

    Widening builders opening - Feasable?

Hey, Took the fireplace out and got left with what looks like a neat builders opening. Can this opening be extended if I add a new wider lintel? Extending only by 10cm each side. Can the gather/bricks inside be removed? What if sides of chimney breast are hollow? Seems like they might...
