I tried unscrewing outer ceiling part, didn't move. Will try again.

This light fitting in bathroom is going to be replaced, just checking how it is removed. Not sure what I am missing, but cannot see how it is removed. Removed 2 screwed on bits, the centre bulb holder is loose. Can't see how ceiling screws are accessed.

The electrician said they need changing as not to standard. Curious to check whether changing these in circumstances (old style Fuse Box & open bayonet fitting Bathroom Light) is pretty standard in rental property.

Is it basically a visual inspection & test switches/sockets ? How do they check the sockets ? Can they check/test a socket which is difficult to access via a short extension lead ? Thanks

Could it be anything to do with Thermcouple next to pilot light ? Thermocouple is next to pilot light and connected to gas valve.

The current problem is the Diverter Valve & radiators getting hot when Tap hot water switched on, which is what I'm looking at, not earlier problems. Not sure why you say "the chances are that the fulcrum is just missing the micro-switch", as boiler always now fires up. The push rod pin on...

What's for real, someone checking before they do something. Other faults were dealt with earlier. Yes, I'm now doing the Diverter Valve and the pin on the plastic diverter is not coming out easily. I don't want to break it, because you can't get some parts for this boiler anymore...
