    External Stopcock

It won't be a priority visit but they will definitely attend and help locate it. It is their asset. If they can't find it they will end up excavating and fitting a new valve

Can't find stop valve to stop water supply to fix leaking tap

There are products available that will allow you to install an aladin valve without isolating the water supply, not ideal but worth using if you need to fix it. I'm surprised your plumber didn't do it.

Identifying flow pipe to radiator when the radiator is removed

Thank you both, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. I remember which side the drain off valve was on. Am I right to think the flow would be on the opposite side?

Identifying flow pipe to radiator when the radiator is removed

Hello, I have a new radiator to fit that requires the flow feed to enter via a specific valve on the radiator. Sadly I failed to make a note of which pipe is which before draining the system and removing the radiator. Does anyone know of a way to identify the pipe without reattaching the old...

    Sewer gas escaping

Sorry folks but this is confusing things slightly so I will try and ask a couple of questions to hopefully help understand it better. The house has been like this for 9 years since built and it hasn't been a problem. There is no external air vent for the soil stack, there are two AAVs in the...

    Sewer gas escaping

Sorry CBW we overlapped on our responses. Can I clarify what you mean by anywhere on the system? There are two other toilets, both have air admittance valves in the loft. Would this count? I always thought it would have to be at each entry to the sewer pipe?

    Sewer gas escaping

So it's not an air admittance valve? Is there not meant to be a way of allowing air pressure to escape?

    Sewer gas escaping

I am fairly sure it's an air admittance valve. It is sealed tight to the branch socket, I can't move it at all. From what I have read air admittance valves don't need maintenance so I'm assuming it's working as intended

    Sewer gas escaping

Hello, Sadly I have a foul smell escaping from the wc in my house. I have attached a picture of the current set up. I am about to replace the washing machine stand pipe as it looks in a poor state but is there anything else you can see that may be causing this problem? Or any suggestion what...

Reducing soil pipe from 110mm to 90mm

Hello, I am looking to slightly extend (no more than 5-10cm) the connection between my soil pipe and a double socket branch. The soil pipe will take a 90mm pipe and the exit from the branch is 110mm. Can anyone suggest somewhere to buy a 'reducer' or alternative product that can help make this...

    Filling small holes in screed

Hi Johnny and dazlight, Thanks for your replies. I am happy to do whichever is the best solution, can I ask which is better? I am guessing I should use ARDEX but is their sufficient benefit over a sand/cement mix?

    Filling small holes in screed

Hello, Due to tile damage I have removed Karndean tiles my utility room and WC. When lifting the tiles I have lifted very small parts of the screed, there are approximately 4 patches of no more than 6cmx6cm missing where you can see the concrete floor beneath. The rest of the screed is in...
