Architrave coming away from wall at top

Okay, phew! Thank you so much. Do you think anything needs to be done to it I.e., filling the gap?

Architrave coming away from wall at top

Hi all I have architrave around the wall in which my 1st floor bedroom window sits - see photo (architrave and plastering done c.2018 and new window incl. frame & pane fitted last October). Every night for a while now I've heard a little popping noise every hour or so so last night I stood up...

Anyone know what these patches are?

Hi all! I just bought my house back in July, had an independent damp survey done which showed fairly high moisture readings but no signs of damp and no action to be taken. House wasn't lived in for 9 months prior to me moving in. Since moving in and having the heating on once these small...

Public combined sewer running under living room (1905 house) and no build over agreement

Why does it offend you so much that I'm being sensible and looking into something that my solicitor's report flagged as a risk? I'm a solo house buyer, I'd be an idiot not to look into these things. All I'm doing is asking questions to find out whether or not there actually is a risk with both...

Public combined sewer running under living room (1905 house) and no build over agreement

This one would but only if no water company or Local Authority ever found out about the lack of buildover agreement. Still feels risky though.

Public combined sewer running under living room (1905 house) and no build over agreement

I believe that buildover agreements definitely existed for public sewers in 1905 but not for private ones.

Public combined sewer running under living room (1905 house) and no build over agreement

Hi all So, I'm nearly at the point of exchange on the house I'm buying. There's been a lot of bumps along the way - damp surveys, structural engineer checks etc. and now I've just received the final report from the solicitors and it mentions that there's a public sewer running under the house...
