    Drayton timer not following orders!

... also, the manual says that 1200-1200 should be used to remove one of the three blocks. I used 0900-0900 which may be of significance. Think I'll reset and start again

    Drayton timer not following orders!

Aah, I think I've realised what might be causing it. I have the blocks set like this as I cycle through the menu: Mon-Fri 1730-2000, 0630-0930, 1230-1430 So the blocks are not in time order. Mon-Sat 1730-2000, 0630-0900, 0900-0900 I wonder if this confuses it. It turned out this way...

    Drayton timer not following orders!

Hi all, I have a Worcester Greenstar 25i with a Drayton LP20RF control panel. The timer is set so that the heating will come on three times a day Mon-Fri: 0630-0930, 1230-1430, 1730-2000 On Saturday-Sunday I only want it to come on for two blocks: 0630-0900, 1730-2000 This leaves a...

Safe depth of french drain beside house

Main reasons for asking were: - seems that replacing the heavy soils that are up against the masonry with something less dense could result in movement? - somebody once told me that a stone trench up against the house would allow water to run down through the stones and wash away the soils...

Safe depth of french drain beside house

Hi all, The front garden and the land down one side of my house gets water logged. Heavy soils and slightly lower ground to surrounding land. Planning to install three French drains through the front garden connecting to the storm drain. Along the side of the house, planning to replace the two...

    Sealing Laminate Floor exposed edges

Hi all. I've had laminate flooring installed. Where the laminate stops at certain rooms which still need the floors doing, like bathroom and kitchen, the laminate floor has an exposed edge (sides of planks) and it is not possible to put down a threshold bar yet. I am concerned about moisture...

Damp patches on new plaster - 8 weeks - advice needed

Hi mate, thanks for the reply. I've been doing all you've suggested for a while now. Large parts of the walls and ceilings are very light in colour - almost white. But these darker patches persist. I cannot tell if it is to do with moisture or not, perhaps because of cold spots on the walls...

Damp patches on new plaster - 8 weeks - advice needed

Hi all, I've had rooms in my house replastered, as in skimmed. Some of the rooms are practically all dry, as in, consistent faint pink colour. However, one of the rooms - the one that was done first 7-8 weeks ago - is still quite patchy. I think some of the reasons might be that it is an...

How to fill the gap between floor and wall?

But even after I've scraped it out there is still a trench between the floor base and the wall, with the DPC below the floor. What moisture resistant material can I fill the gap with?

How to fill the gap between floor and wall?

It was built in 1961. I think the legal requirement for DPM was not until 1965 and sporadic after that for a while. There is a gap between the floor and the wall and you can see the dpc in the brick a bit below. I don't think the floor was added later as some of it has marley tiles on. It was...

How to fill the gap between floor and wall?

Hello, There is a gap between the concrete base and the walls in my rooms where skirting baked have been removed. DPC is a bit below the floor level and there is no DPM in the floor. I want something to fill the gap between the base and the wall so that it isn't a haven for creepy crawlies...

    Mist Coat Problem - Help!

Hi all, I know there have been other threads about this and I've read them but couldn't find the answer I need. I've done a mist coat on new, dry plaster. I've used Crown brilliant white matt emulsion and diluted to the amount recommended on the can. Having applied the mist coat, after 24...

Underlayment for Laminate Floor (moisture barrier)

Hi mate, Would that type of DPM be a 100% barrier? In which case, is it likely to force moisture out to the walls? Also, do you think an underlay with moisture barrier is insufficient then? Trying to keep costs down if I can help it.

Underlayment for Laminate Floor (moisture barrier)

Hi all, I have a bungalow with concrete subfloors. They've recently been primed and leveled using latex screed. There is no DPM in the floor, the house was built in the early 60s. Previous tests before self leveling showed humidity levels higher than ideal. My question is: for a Laminate...

Self Leveller and DPC - Help

The problem in my case is that the trench is at least a couple of inches deep in places and the DPC is visible within it below the floor level. Would the liquid DPM stuff result in a cold bridge if just used to fill up the trench? With the foam strip, would you be putting that against the...

Self Leveller and DPC - Help

Alright mate, thanks for response. So would you fill the whole "trench" with liquid DPM, so it rises above the DPC and is then level with the floor surface? Then screed over the lot up to the walls?
