    Light bulb always on

Thanks! It doesn't bother me at all honestly, I was just worried it was a sign of dodgy electrics.

Okie doke, so I should just swap the bulbs? Is it an issue/potentially dangerous?

    Light bulb always on

The light in the attached pic makes it look much brighter than it actually is! The first time I saw it I wasn't sure it was still giving off light, it is quite faint.

    Light bulb always on

Hey So I have a light at the top of the stairs that always gives off a faint light, even when it is off (pic attached). My first assumption was an issue with the electrics, so I swapped in a different bulb and this didn't happen with the other bulb. I've tried three other bulbs now and they all...

Radiator not heating up on one side

Been a while, but I finally got this sorted and you were absolutely right about it being a baffle problem. The combination of the baffle being two columns in and the radiator being on upside down caused this to happen. So the water was flowing in the right side and straight out the return on the...

    Drainage problem

My dad is a plumber, he just lives 500 miles away. I'll get him to look at it for me when he visits next (which is soon). The bathroom is usable and there doesn't appear to be a complete blockage so it should be fine for a week or so.

    Drainage problem

I don't think very. The stack comes out the building about halfway down and there is a cap (presumably for cleaning) at ground level. The pipes that are internal are cased in behind walls and tiles.

    Drainage problem

Having no luck at the minute :) We've had guests staying and I think someone has maybe flushed something they shouldn't have down the toilet. The shower, sink and toilet in the en suite share a main drainage pipe and it has been a bit... Sluggish since they have left along with other problems...

    Water Ingress in door sill

Won't have time for that unfortunately. Have stuffed a bin bag under the door and put some heavy duty tape over the top of the weather bar in case it is getting in from the top. Will review in the morning.

    Water Ingress in door sill

I'm about to go away for a week and keen to not leave this lying as it is expected to rain heavily in that time. Failing a proper fix in the next 12 hours what can I do to stem the tide for a short time? Decorator's caulk around the base of the door frame to attempt to seal it? Duct tape...

    Water Ingress in door sill

Got a better pic of the seal/theshhold. Looks to me like the seal is maybe damaged?

    Water Ingress in door sill

So I think the door already has one on the outside. There's a lip at the bottom on the external. Could it simply be damaged underneath?

    Water Ingress in door sill

I opened the door to get a look at the seal in the corner.

Radiator not heating up on one side

Yup it did work before. I also have an identical radiator set up the same way in another room which works fine.

    Water Ingress in door sill

I've recently bought a house that had damp proofing redone. One of the back doors has always felt very stiff as if the wood along the bottom or the doorframe has swollen slightly. It's raining heavily today (I think the first heavy rain since we moved in) and I've noticed some ingress in the...

Radiator not heating up on one side

Yup it's on the right side. When the plumber was looking at it the water was spraying through when the valve on the right was open.

Radiator not heating up on one side

Hey! Unfortunately not. Got a plumber in and the diagnosis was it was blocked. Due to other circs he wasn't able to unblock it on the day. I think the blockage is at the top of the rad. It is made up of two horizontal cylinders attached to 12 or so vertical bars. The bottom cylinder gets red hot...
