floor lifting/buckling for first time after years of being fine

Yeah I guess that is an option, would just seem odd to me that a radiator would suddenly after all these years (and not having been put on for months) would suddenly spring a leak?!? Obviously tho I know nothing about this stuff, so perhaps that is possible!

floor lifting/buckling for first time after years of being fine

Hi, I have lived in my Victorian terrace house for about 8 years and never had any problems with the floor. Two days ago I noticed the floor in the hallway lifting/buckling badly on one side, must be up a few inches. The floor is, I think, some sort of wood pieces likely laid on top of the...

    blistering on bathroom wall

To the left of the blistering as you look at it, is a shower over bath. To the right just out of photo is a towel rail. I don't think it was papered or tiled. I the shower/bath area had a waterproof coating applied and then tiled on top. The wall was just plasterboard I think. I think there is a...

    bath/shower screen drop

Thanks -- any sense of what has actually happened, though? Like something coming loose, or just a bad installation? Does everything need to be taken down, or just the glass realigned or similar? I'm wondering if I can do this myself easily (I am total novice) or whether I need to ask the guy to...

    blistering on bathroom wall

Hi all, thanks for your comments. The blistering is just to the right of a shower over bath. Further right out of shot is a towel rail. So that's a shower screen you can see on the left. And yes, it was installed as part of the renovation. I've noticed in recent days the screen (made up of two...

    bath/shower screen drop

Hi, I had a new bath/shower installed and recently noticed that I can no longer open the bath/shower screen outward (I often just step around it anyway).. I noticed that the glass screen appears to have dropped lower so it is blocked from opening by the metal frame attached to the bath. On...

    blistering on bathroom wall

Hi, I recently had my bathroom renovated and in the past month or two I've noticed the wall appears to be blistering quite badly. Initially it was minor but it has gotten worse in recent weeks. The blistering is happening in just one place... by the side of the bath with overhead shower (with...

radiator not working after bathroom renovation

Thanks Madrab and drives ... just to clarify... we didn't have a radiator in the bathroom, just the towel rail, which serves a heater there. If I turn down other radiators in the house, the towel rail and bedroom radiator do get a bit warm... but obviously I want the ability to warm all my rooms...

radiator not working after bathroom renovation

Hi, I recently had my bathroom renovated (including installation of a new towel rail) and ever since a radiator in one of our bedrooms has stopped getting hot. The only way we seem to be able to wake it up is by turning the overall heating up REALLY high. Any idea what it might be? It has...
