    B&Q - How much compensation?

Sorry, my mistake! Thank you, appreciate it.

    B&Q - How much compensation?

They offered compensation in the end… probably still less than we felt was fair but after speaking with a consumer rights solicitor, it was going to be extremely time consuming to pursue that course of action. They also agreed the kitchen needed ripped out and started again (which has since...

    B&Q - How much compensation?

First world problems, yes. Irrespective of that, it’s cost me endless hours of time and a considerable amount money (to me). Not exactly ideal in the midsts of a cost of living crisis. If you want to discuss geopolitics or something, you’re probably in the wrong place. Amazes me why people...

    B&Q - How much compensation?

Turns out you can just say you fit kitchens and that means you’re approved…

    B&Q - How much compensation?

Ahh, it’s seems you’re just being supercilious for the sake of being so. If you don’t have anything of value to add, why bother commenting at? Telling of your character. The two words are synonymous with one and other where I stay. I may have you the wrong one as I’m clearly (as is obvious...

    B&Q - How much compensation?

Thanks. I have proof of nearly everything with the exception of conversations and proof of the verbal abuse we received from B&Q - I do however have the emails of us reporting that and the kitchen manager subsequently forcing us to have those same joiners back out (effectively telling us they...

    B&Q - How much compensation?

Hi everyone, To cut a long story short, we’ve had a nightmare kitchen fitting with B&Q with endless trouble over the last 8/9 months. We were supplied unqualified cowboy fitters that delivered unimaginable levels of poor joinery, we had initial delays, we’ve been abused by staff and fitters...

    B&Q - How much compensation?

Hi Everyone, I’ve had endless problems with a B&Q kitchen fitting and the worktops they delivered. My worktops have already been replaced 3 times due to a number of workman errors, defects and bowing. They have delivered the latest worktop (to be fitted by their contractor) and had assured us...

    B&Q Fitting Service Gone Wrong

I have actually broached it with the Store Manager who has taken it in hand. We were appointed new fitters in November after the kitchen had been assessed by one of their staff enrolled specifically for that. He had advised at the time that a full refit was no necessary. They finished up at the...

    B&Q Fitting Service Gone Wrong

Have a degree of transparency about how they specifically qualify/get these tradespeople? The website states: Proven experience of fitting kitchens, bathrooms, or bedrooms. There is nothing online that suggests this exists. I’ve asked for them to provide evidence these checks were done but...

B&Q Kitchen Fitting Problems - Next Course Of Action?

We had asked repeatedly for a full refit. They sent an assessor up from Newcastle who said that wouldn’t be required. In other words, they refused. Another fitter attended but we subsequently discovered issues with the initial fit.

B&Q Kitchen Fitting Problems - Next Course Of Action?

It’s been an awful experience. But thanks for the kind words. The kitchen looks better now but it is still riddled with issues. My fear has been not allowing them back out, taking it to court/ombudsman and then saying we’ve not given them reasonable opportunity to remedy it.

    B&Q Fitting Service Gone Wrong

False advertising in this regard. We are now at the stage of seeking legal advise anyway in respect to fit and the length of time it has taken. Most of the issues have stemmed from being given unqualified tradesmen in the first instance. They’ve been fitting this kitchen for over 4 months and...

    B&Q Fitting Service Gone Wrong

This doesn’t tell you how they verify/qualify fitters (hence my post). The tradesmen we had been given clearly didn’t know what they were doing and that is supported by the fact there are no reviews online about them. Their website also has misleading advertisements that they are in partnership...

    B&Q Fitting Service Gone Wrong

Hi Everyone, This thread has been invaluable to me the last few weeks. We have had an ongoing, 5 month saga with a B&Q kitchen fitting. The first fitters that attended were clearly not qualified and did virtually everything wrong. This needed to be assessed and refitted. The work included not...

    Wooden Worktop Knot

Yeah, I never thought about looking at the care instructions. I’m going to do that tomorrow and send it to them. Thanks

    Wooden Worktop Knot

Well, the issues have been endless and the fitting has been ongoing for over 4 months. I think court action might be necessary if they aren’t going to appropriately compensate us for the inconvenience etc. Not only have we had issues with the fit, we’ve been denied our complaint being...

    Wooden Worktop Knot

Yeah, just for clarity the fitters were appointed by B&Q and our contract is with them for materials and fitting. The first set of fitters they supplied were chucked off the job because they didn’t know what they were doing (almost everything they had done was incorrect, wasting our time and...

    Wooden Worktop Knot

B&Q are refusing to repair or replace the worktop. It was fitted a week ago. They’re saying it’s natural and we should treat it ourselves. Any suggestions on what to do?

    Wooden Worktop Knot

B&Q have come back to me to say that they won’t rectify the knot, and we should treat it ourself. They have stated they won’t touch it. The worktop was only fitted a week ago. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks
