New two channel programmer, heating not coming on

The silly question first: Have you got a thermostat and was it turned up far enough to make the boiler turn on? Also, does the heating come on when both the hot water and heating is turned on?

Unfortunately, the nearest recycling centre that accepts them is 15 miles in a direction I don't often travel!

    Threading the strimmer correctly

From the first 2 photos it looks as though you might have wound it round in the wrong direction. If you can push the line all the way through then you need have the spool half way along and then wrap the line around - one to the top and one to the bottom following the slots.

Which screws and plugs for MDF skirting?

If they are the lightweight thermal/aerated blocks then drill them with the hammer function turned off. If you used concrete screws then you wouldn't need plugs.

    Empty toner cartridges

I don't know what happens any waste toner, but I don't that there is any as it just looks like a plastic bottle which is shaped to allow it to be twisted by the photocopier. They are this type...

    Printer "waste ink tray full".

I managed to do it a couple of times with an Epson printer. and also redirected the pipe from the printer heads to a bottle rather that the waste ink pad. - The first time I paid a service center to reset it, but they refused to do it a second time. If the printer won't let you print and you...

    Empty toner cartridges

I was wondering if anyone knows what to I should do with an toner cartridge or 3? I have been advised my current supplier to put them in the 'normal' bin (which was vague). As they are made out of recyclable plastic (PET) I feel that they should be recycled or refilled. If I were to put...

    USB Sockets and Bluetooth receivers

It is a USB A integrated into the receiver. I understand what you are saying about the power supply vs charger. I wanted Bluetooth receiver because I've got a Bluetooth transmitter & receiver and I have to change over to receive every time I switch it on. I thought it would be a simple case...

    USB Sockets and Bluetooth receivers

I've brought a couple or Bluetooth receivers which are usb powered. It was impossible to get them working at first. I eventually got them working, but with a different usb socket - the same or lower ampage rating. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Breaking out chimney(breast) - can’t find lintel or arch?

How high above the floor did you start? It looks like there is modern cement on the bottom half, so maybe it was taken out when work was done previously..

Which fuse rating to use in a plug

One of the responses to the "Strange Socket In Hospital" thread prompted me to search for the specs of 13 amp fuses. One of the suggested questions was "Can I use a 5A fuse in a 13A plug?" With the AI Overview saying it is dangerous to use a lower ampage fuse. Does anyone know how accurate...

    Infared transceiver: HS21A011 IR transceiver

This is more curiosity than anything. I have brought a job lot which included 2 packs of 'HS21A011 IR transceivers'. I can't find anything online about them, so was wondering if anyone knew what they would be used for and if they have any use/value. The only thing is says on both is 'OMRON'...
