Can I use heat from light bulbs for a very small toilet.

Harry / Eric. Thanks for replies Was trying to explain. The room has an extractor fan powered from the light. You have to turn the light on which allows power to the fan switch and then turn that on. When i bought the house years ago the builders explained that this was the building regs...

Can I use heat from light bulbs for a very small toilet.

Thanks. I didn't put specifics. In the winter I use the toilet as a Ad Hoc airing closet. The house temp is about 18c but the washing needs to be about 23+c to dry before stink or worse, mould, or I'll be washing again. Due to the building regs at the time you have to have the light on to run...

Can I use heat from light bulbs for a very small toilet.

Hi everyone. I have a small toilet downstairs that is a bit cold. It's only 2m cubed. I currently have a 11w (60w equivelent) fluoresant light in at the minute. And acording to youtube vids these heat up to about 10+ degrees C. If I left it on all day would it add even a couple of degrees heat...

Deflection (I think) when / how to worry/react.

Thanks. I have measured. I'm about half way through putting it together. And measured again, no diff at about 180KG. Typical stress of self assembly, easy if you already know. But stressfull while doing. So after 8 hrs I'll leave it and measure again tomorrow and start again and hopefully...

Deflection (I think) when / how to worry/react.

Also for anyone who could reply. Thanks, sorry took a few to reply, as can only get chatting on weekends. Thanks for the other answers as well. I just wanted a new post as it was getting confusing with many replys. But I also wanted to check. I've built a platform that's approx 2m by 1.8m. top...

Deflection (I think) when / how to worry/react.

Hi, I'd already made a post to do with having a multi gym in my bedroom. and was getting a lazer measure to measure the "Deflection" if any, in the floor below. from what I was told I should only get about 2mm deflection in joists. Based on weight / space used etc. I intend to measure the...

Multi Gym in 2nd floor box room. Weight on floor?

No probs, I got that wrong. Thank you. So does that mean, let's say the ceiling is 1m and it reports 1.002m it would still react if the deflection was 1mm and report as 1.001m Or does it mean it could give random 2mm +/- every time. LOL, and I wouldn't know what panic to have!

Multi Gym in 2nd floor box room. Weight on floor?

Yes, It will be in the corner of 2 external walls. Although I do weight / resistance training in a controlled mannor. There's bound to be some weird flow as the weight transfers though the pulleys and my body weight against the force of lifting/ pulling. The weight will transfer force back and...

Multi Gym in 2nd floor box room. Weight on floor?

I was just looking at a laser measure. Unless I pay a lot I can get cheap ones which say "high-accuracy of ±2mm," Never had / used one so. Does that mean it would only register a differance if it were over 2mm because the pics show it's display with 3 zeros after the decimal and in Meters, so...

Multi Gym in 2nd floor box room. Weight on floor?

The weight stack is centre back, the tripod formation means it's feet hit about 1.2m apart. you can't really see in that picture but only the 3 feet touch the ground. I'm gonna do that with the OSB, although it'll be about 4m2 (2m x 2m) or I can't close the door. Some people on YouTube are...

Multi Gym in 2nd floor box room. Weight on floor?

Hi thanks, 1. I was thinking of OSB as well. 2. Was your load in a new build 2007, Pre 2000 house were using thicker joists and pre 80's were much bigger? 3. I think it'll take me 18 months to lose the 50KG, at that point I was going to put it in a shed and just have lighter equipment, Do you...

Multi Gym in 2nd floor box room. Weight on floor?

Hi I'm putting a multi gym in my little box room. I've read as much as I can on this and other forums, as well as the Building regs. https://nhbc-standards.co.uk/6-superstructure-excluding-roofs/6-4-timber-and-concrete-upper-floors/6-4-9-timber-joists/ I understand the basic 1.5Kn/m2. But still...
