    Small particle appearing wood flooring

Ok, good idea, I hope no one has hovered it up. I have not seen any woodlice (assuming I even know what they look like, lets say I don't see any creepy crawlies).

    Small particle appearing wood flooring

Hi Everyone, What are these small particles that keep appearing even after I hover them away? Thanks

    pumped shower on mains water

Thank for the reply Nige F - The lids not even on. But it's not an airtight system anyway. There is even a tube that is open to the air. (I'm guessing it to purge air or allow air in so water can flow freely, preventing a vacuum behind it?) I don't think if there is a leak before the automatic...

    pumped shower on mains water

Thanks for the reply Madrab. I will have to tackle the drips. In the uk we hardly need ptf tape. Here you can do ten turns and it's still loose. What pressure drop should I expect if any when the system is drip free?

    pumped shower on mains water

Thanks for the reply magic. The unit claims to replace the check valve (but it's in very bad English) - yet it tells you to place one before the pump which I have done. I know I have some small leaks on some of the fittings - but does that account for the 0.1bar drop every few seconds?

    pumped shower on mains water

So I have followed the suggestion of getting a proper pump - a mate was selling a 0.8HP pump so I took it. - All showers now work with no fuss. Great pressure at all taps. The next thing was to buy an automatic switch. Not too familiar with them I just bought what I thought was the top model -...

    pumped shower on mains water

Thanks for the reply Madrab. I will have to get a better picture. I wanted to avoid running that long pipe. They have so many different types of pipes and fittings here, it's confusing.

    pumped shower on mains water

Thanks for the reply Simon. It's cheaper here. They do sell the triton 80 there which is also pumped. By typical electric shower I mean one without pump. One where the temp is adjusted by adjusting the flow. Can you explain accumulator? Normally the tanks here are connected to a 1.5HP pump...

    pumped shower on mains water

Hi All, (The following is outside the uk were water pressure, even water is not guaranteed at all times. UK bylaws are welcome but please say why they exist) I’m having trouble getting consistent hot water from your typical electric shower. The mains water is 1.5bar at best and the flow rate...

    RCD trip/Earth leakage

No I was saying I want my meter to read a fault. So far everything I have tested checks out ok. I spent a lot of money on that meter and if it's only going to tell me everything ok, well that's kind of boring. Hopefully when I test the light circuit it will read under 1M indicating that's the...

Thanks for the reply ericmark - I guess the next step is to pull the lights out and inspect the wires.

    RCD trip/Earth leakage

Thanks for the reply Spark123. I see your point on the 2 pin lamps - that saves me throwing them away, I kind of like them. Yes I agree masking the problem is not the way to go - so the next step is? to remove the bulbs are do an insulation test? [I want to see my meter read less than 1M ohm...

    RCD trip/Earth leakage

Yes - exactly that. I was uncomfortable trying to get to the pairs or wire and such knowing there is live in the box. It's a metal box too. Whoever wired it made such an untidy mess. I would not have minded to swap some like mcb for rcbo but because of the live I'm not comfortable. The wires are...

    RCD trip/Earth leakage

HI everyone - 1 earth leak meter, 1 insulation tester, 1 rcbo later and I have traced the problem to the living room lights. The living room lights have 6x GU10 cheap LED's that change colour (and has a remote) - and 6x GU10 compact fluorescents. LED's are on 1 switch and compact fluorescents...

    ceiling curtain track

Hi All, I've been trying to find this curtain track for ages - cant seem to find where they sell it. Anyone know? Rather than screw the track to the wall you screw it to the ceiling directly. Thanks

    RCD trip/Earth leakage

Thanks for the reply - again I was puzzled by the different reading, even with my limited knowledge I thought they should be the same - but the meter is new and I don't think there was a gap. I have tested several times and I still get a big difference between the 2 sets of tails. Any idea of a...
