Trying to source this garden connector?

Looks like they are looking for fittings for a crinkle 'granny' hosepipe, not a normal hosepipe

Prepping floor for tiling - options?

Definitely overboard the floorboards with 6mm backer board (no more ply or hardi). You won't regret it

    And another one..

If you visit a maternity ward they are full of Eritrian and Pakistani mothers and their offspring. Its well under way. None speak english and every conversation is translated by an external company. These people are bleeding the NHS dry

    Patio drainage

It is relaxed at door thresholds, esp with many new houses needing step free access, and yes it is a trend. Hence the need for a proper slot drain there and fall away ideally. At the door threshold any rain splashback will just meet the door which is hopefully weatherproof. Against walls...

    Patio drainage

Needs to be 150mm below DPC to satisfy building regs. An eagle eyed surveyor may raise this when you want to sell the house one day. However, there are practical ways to do this so its neat and works. Main thing is to not bridge the DPC, I have put patio steps up under a door cill before...

    You couldn’t make it up.

Fake news - Between about 2014 and 2020, the UK funded extensive security upgrades around Calais, Coquelles (Eurotunnel) and Dunkirk. This led to the rise in boat crossings as the economic spongemigrants couldnt get onto truck & trains in the usual manner and started trying boats.

Bake the rims in an oven then. Or drive at 155mph for 2 hours, that should get them up to temp for you

    Enamel for alloy wheel?

Makes sense. The inside of the tyre has been preserved like an Egyptian tomb for the last 22 years. I'd probably go one step further though and use exhaust manifold paint. If the bead seat ever reaches 600°C you'll be very pleased you didn't cheap out with engine enamel.

Man who punched female officer at Manchester airport jailed.

Does it matter if the copper is little? They can stamp on a terrorists head just as well if they are 5'7" as at 6' 4" can't they?

    Enamel for alloy wheel?

I'd avoid ordinary enamel. What you really want is Hammerite Smooth. The hammered finish helps recreate the factory texture left by years of galvanic corrosion, and the iron particles provide a sacrificial anode effect. It's basically cathodic protection in a tin. For best results, don't remove...

Upvc door expands in hot weather

Mine did the same on the record hot day in 2022. Expanded by 10mm and wouldn't close. Try cooling it down with a hosepipe?

    Abnormally high UK temperatures continue

My beer (from freezer) in it's glass (from freezer) is 1.7 degrees. Temperature differential of 24 degrees compared to the outside air here in Yorkshire. It's important to remain hydrated and keep core body temperature regulated during a heatwave.

If your decking is resting on pavers, no way. The base is unlikely to be sound enough and will sink.

    Air Con, Long Vent Hose

Do you mean a fan mid way along? Potentially an extractor fan may work, however you need to check manufacturer instructions for the ac unit that it is permitted to operate with a vent that is longer than a certain length in the first place..
