How to build flush cupboard/closet doors

So you just build the carcass inset behind the wall the same thickness of the door, the door then bridges the gap between carcass and wall?

    PIR underfloor

I was debating just putting the floorboards that are coming up on the underside to support

    PIR underfloor

Thanks- reassurance what I'm after as I suspect they will move over time! What you've said is what I was thinking about doing as less battens so that's great, just wanted to check I'd not missed something (recognising space underneath to actually do it may be tricky!) There's an overlay UFH...

    PIR underfloor

Hi- I'm looking to install PIR between joists on ground floor to insulate. My plan was to screw battens to side of joists for PIR to sit on but was thinking I could screw batten at horizontal to joist from the underneath for it to sit on. This would require far less batten as could use 4 or 5...

    Suspended floor insulation for UFH

Hadn't thought about going underneath! Interesting..... Hope not too faffy. I'm leaning towards structural overlay boards to replace my floorboards. Goes completely against the thermal mass comment but might be the only other way without raising floor

    Suspended floor insulation for UFH

I need to flag- The biggest barrier I actually have is I don't think building regs will allow me to notch down a depth of 25mm on a 100mm joist to loop pipe around

    Suspended floor insulation for UFH

The ashp will run at a lower flow temperature, so retaining the heat and keeping a constant temperature more efficient than heating up and cooling down constantly. I am aware the plates are easier to install but I don't think, in my opinion, they're the most effective system

    Suspended floor insulation for UFH

Thanks! So fix to the underside of the joists perpendicular? I'm open to this (more the better right?) just might be tricky with available space! The biscuit mix presumably runs up to the foam bead? So no dpm or anything needed? The joist lengths are about 4.2m, there's a dwarf wall at about...

    Suspended floor insulation for UFH

Thanks, I've looked at the tray systems but they don't offer the same thermal mass to retain heat. There's a few screed based systems I've seen which are designed for suspended floors ....https://www.thermo-floor.co.uk/underfloor-heating-suspended-floor.html

    Suspended floor insulation for UFH

Hi- newbie here! I'm looking to install wet UFH as part of a heat pump install. Floors are suspended timber, with 100mm joists. There's a c.200mm void underneath. I plan to PIR insulate from bottom of joist up, leaving a 25mm gap for pipe and biscuit mix screed on top of PIR. This will...

Suspended Floor PIR Insulation Support Option

Also keen to explore this. I'd love to support from underneath if possible to maximise PIR, and also give me a bit more comfort re strength as could use bigger battens.

    Ufh subfloor

What if I just put t and G back down, and varnished? Does that work with UFH or is it too thick?

    Ufh subfloor

Thanks. I did mean biscuit mix. So you wouldn't put t&G back down, just lay the new flooring on top of joists and screed (with some ply or similar in-between?)

    Ufh subfloor

I'm just exploring installing UFH in a suspended joist G/f. The plan at this stage is to PIR insulate between joists, lay pipes, then screed over. I am now unsure what to do next.... I would like a wood floor (real or fake!). Does one put down the original T&G floorboards and sand/seal? Or...

How to build flush cupboard/closet doors

Hi After a bit of guidance.... I'm looking to build a large cupboard in an alcove of a room. I want it, ideally, to look as flush as possible with the wall as I want it hidden from the eye as best I could I saw this image which is identical to what I was after but was struggling to find plans...
