How to cap external PVC window ledge

OK so the end capping has at some point detached from an external PVC window ledge and disappeared. Just wondering how to replace it ? Do I cut out and use PVC sheeting + sealant (do such sheets exist?) Not even sure how to google search what I'm wanting to do tbh. Hope the attached pics will...

Paint applying unevenly / separating out when using a roller on an interior wall

So I washed any trace of the sugar soap off the walls and sanded down when it had dried- because the gloopy paint had left the surface pretty uneven. The roller and brush applied paint much better after that. The only puzzle is that - even in a couple of obscure places eg underneath the radiator...

Paint applying unevenly / separating out when using a roller on an interior wall

Thanks PaulTP, QuantumF.... Have sanded down the walls to smooth the rough texture and have washed them down. Waiting for them to dry before I do a test paint.

Paint applying unevenly / separating out when using a roller on an interior wall

Thanks both. Not exactly sure what the previous paint was; it was done by a decorator several years ago - but I know that it was matt finish paint - same as the paint I'm trying to apply now.

Paint applying unevenly / separating out when using a roller on an interior wall

Just a thought - I didn't wash off the sugar soap solution but let it dry on the surface. Could this be the cause ? If so - what's the best remedy? I've painted the majority of the wall surfaces (albeit badly) so it's not just a case of washing it off. Thanks

Paint applying unevenly / separating out when using a roller on an interior wall

Hi There Just wondered if anyone has experienced this. I've started applying a standard matt emulsion paint (B&Q Valspar matt mixed to colour in the shop) to an interior wall using a short-pile roller. The wall was washed previously with sugar soap and then dried. For the first few seconds...

Multipoint front door wont open - think a latch is stuck

So - for some reason the front door which has a multipoint lock and which has been fine for years will no longer open. The key locks/unlocks as normal. When lifting the handle, the latches seem to engage ok. However, when I turn the handle down, it looks as tho the central latch stays put -...

Old IKEA desk - re-staining surface

Complete newbie when it comes to woodworking/restoration. I've got an old 'beech effect' desk that I've lightly sanded the surface of (in parts) to remove years of scratches and stains - see picture. Planning to sand the rest of the surface to get an even finish. Looking for suggestions as to...

You may both be right- unfortunately I didn't see how it was fixed... and if I did it wouldn't mean much to me anyway...:)

New Beko dishwasher leaking from the cold water inlet connection

Well - I've just taken the filter out, reconnected it and... works fine - not a drip in sight- even with the dishwasher running! I think I'd convinced myself that this was some modern type of fitting that needed a different type of valve to match on the other end - one that had a recess for the...

New Beko dishwasher leaking from the cold water inlet connection

Hi Alec - I haven't checked - I'll do that now. Didn't want to mess too much with the new fitting in case that bit was needed. Thanks

Replaced traditional lights with downlights - now wont work if lights in next room are on!

Thanks for all of these constructive replies - my apologies; I thought I was being notified of responses but clearly I wasn't. In the end - the chap came back and found a fault with the wiring in the switch in the lounge - the one that he hadn't worked on! So all good. Thanks again!

New Beko dishwasher leaking from the cold water inlet connection

Hi There, So I recently had a new free-standing Beko dishwasher delivered and installed. I noticed a day or so later that there was a significant leak under the sink - coming from the inlet connector hose - where it connects to the cold water compression valve. The thing is - having...

Should also add - just checked all the other downstairs switches - kitchen, utility room, hallway, outside light - a mix of on/off and dimmer - no effect
