Accused by neighbour that boiler flue is causing a statutory nuisance

I don't know how old the boiler is exactly as the previous owner of my house installed it and all his documents lack dates. The installation instructions have 2002 on it, but that might just be when the document was produced not when the boiler was installed. But it does look old...

Accused by neighbour that boiler flue is causing a statutory nuisance

The boiler is a Grant Oil multi pass 70/90 piello RD13 type PJ. I believe the building control regs say the flue only needs to be within 600 mm of the boundary, and it is within 2 metres. I wonder if the larger plume has been caused by the fuel pressure being increased, as there was a problem...

Accused by neighbour that boiler flue is causing a statutory nuisance

You can see the flue and the plume, and the relative distances. The neighbour's house is set back almost 9 metres from the flue. The distance to the fence is about 2.2 metres. The plume does get blown around a bit and gets quite large. I have a feeling she will run to the local environmental...

Accused by neighbour that boiler flue is causing a statutory nuisance

The relative position of the two houses is shown. The boiler flue is located to the front of the outlined house on the side elevation. So on the left hand side, bottom left corner of the outlined house as you look at the picture. My view is that if I add on a boiler flue extension kit to raise...

Accused by neighbour that boiler flue is causing a statutory nuisance

Hi all My boiler flue is located at a height of 2 meters on the side elevation of my house towards the front of my house. It exits horizontally away from the house. My neighbour has decided to kick off that the plume is causing a statutory nuisance to her and her property. The boiler flue is...

Anti social positioning of boiler flue objection

Thanks for your reply. The flue is to be located in a downstairs room (utility room) of a two storey house, so venting through the roof is not entirely desirable. I could conceivably extend the flue upwards on the side of the house to a greater height, which I hope might mitigate concerns?

Anti social positioning of boiler flue objection

Evening I have just been hit by the Parish Council with an objection to my planning application, and one of the listed reasons was an anti-social location of a boiler flue. My proposed boiler flue location on the side elevation of my house, at the very front of the house, and at a height of...
