    Grommet Hole Query

I can't go to 80 mm because that will cut more into the desk support, I'm just asking if the way it is now is ok? The hole is slightly too big for it hence the use of the silicone.

    Grommet Hole Query

Hi all, Other than my OCD making this bother me, is this ok? My father kindly drilled a hole for a grommet on my desk, but didn't check for the desk support below. The issue is, if we had given space for the desk support it may have been too far forward on the desk. We had to use silicone to...

    What Do We Do Here?

Here is the desk, you can see what I mean... Excuse the mess, it's a dumping ground until its used as a PC desk.

    What Do We Do Here?

@Harry Bloomfield I wish there was, the desk are fitted and have storage drawers and cupboards underneath them, it would be a massive amount of work for just one socket.

    What Do We Do Here?

@RandomGrinch Yeah, he's very good, have used him for many years. It was a tough decision for him on this particular socket, I don't blame him for putting it in upside down initially, but think an angled socket or moving the back box up would have been better.

    What Do We Do Here?

Yeah, had a look but couldn't see a M2 with higher outlets, plus I think the angled socket would look really nice on the worktop. It is above my fiancée's desk who is not that bothered about it, but when she comes to use it (though may not) it may be a different story!

    What Do We Do Here?

The angled back box looks like a neat solution. Is this fairly easy to do DIY or better to get an electrician to do it? I found flipping the socket round fairly easy but not sure on this. Thank you again for all of your help and advice, it's greatly appreciated!

    What Do We Do Here?

I have just checked the Sketchup plans and one is higher than the other... I guess this was just a genuine mistake, it's just wondering how we go about fixing this if we really need to?

    What Do We Do Here?

Thank you all. I'm not a fan of it being upside down, so that was an easy change. The less so but more ideal change is to move the socket up, but I'm sure that requires cutting away at the plaster and moving the back box up which is messy and potentially costly. So, is the best solution to use...

    What Do We Do Here?

Forgot to say, there are already two sets of double sockets under the desk, this was put in for say a lamp or phone charger.

    What Do We Do Here?

I’ve managed to use it with a phone charger with no issues it’s more if we say plug something in with a thick lead that comes out of the bottom…

    What Do We Do Here?

Hi all, Bit of a long story, but we have just refurbished a house and ended up using higher than normal desks in our study which has meant that a plug socket now has no clearance above the desk (cut in assuming standard desk height). Initially, the socket was installed upside down but felt it...
