    Parquet Filler

I've ordered 5L. Happy to report back how much I end up using if that's useful. Tigercubrider, yes application is after initial sanding to flatten the floors with a flexible spatula. Exedon, I've already ordered vanish, but I'm curious why you advocate Hardwax oil? Is it for aesthetic reasons...

    Parquet Filler

No, the gaps in the that second row. Maybe I'm too harsh on myself. I was going to leave the expansion gap clear, as the skirting will cover that. (10mm skirting, a few wonky walls, so in spots increasing to 17mm, but that should still be enough for the skirting)

    Parquet Filler

I'm laying new parquet in my house, and want to prepare for the next steps. I've got 27m2 of new oak parquet down. The supplier recommended Lecol 7500 as a filler before finishing. it's my first attempt, so I ended up with some gaps. No need to twist the knife here please, after all the hard...

    Mist coat failing

No, I didn't. The plasterer just said to treat with a mist coat. I'm thinking to sand down and feather/blend it in. I won't be able to use take to create top white band above the main wall colour, but that's a problem for another day. Would that work? What grits would you recommend? Sand by...

    Mist coat failing

What's my best strategy for going forward? Newly plastered walls, left 4 weeks to dry. Applied a mist cost, but probably far too thick, around 25% water dilution of a white emulsion. I was trying to tape the top of the walls on my second coat for a sharp border where the picture rail would be...

Picture rail with recessed LED lighting

Hello, I'm looking for product recommendations. I'm in a 1900 end of terrace, and doing extensive renovations. I would like to install a picture rail, but one that could double up as a LED coving. LED covings are generally not designed to work as picture rails, and vice versa. The LED strip I'm...

    Connect RWP to sewer

They way I see it is that every rainfall is causing damage, and now that I've "disturbed" the water channels that have formed under my floor - if a heavy downpour comes it'll create bigger problems. Next I have to address the capacity issue with the neighbours, because a small pipe isn't...

    Connect RWP to sewer

It's an end of terrace, and I believe it serves another property on the terrace. So if I read the drainage report correctly it has been "adopted". I'm paying for both "surface water" and "waste water" charges, and both foul and rainwater are connected to the same sewer. At the back of the...

    Connect RWP to sewer

Hi all, I've bough an end of terrace in November and started to take up the floorboard in the front room to prepare for insulating underneath. In the process I discovered deep holes in the front outside corner of the soil underneath, revealing the footings. The soil seems to have washed out in...
