What to do with unsightly architraves?

Thanks Fred! Good tip. There are many layers of paint and I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them have lead.

What to do with unsightly architraves?

Haha, if only it were that easy! I’ve scrubbed them and that dirt is unmovable. It’s truly disgusting. A repaint would be a decent temporary fix, as you say.

What are these weird ugly pipes on wall?

When we get work done on the kitchen I hope we can get rid of those hideous double ones. Looks like someone was improvising on the cheap, and not in a good way.

What are these weird ugly pipes on wall?

Thanks all! Think the first one connects to an outside water tap. The double trouble one is connected to a gas cooker so think it’s a gas pipe. Grateful for all your tips!!

What to do with unsightly architraves?

Hello, we’ve recently moved into a Victoria house that was rented to tenants for decades. The architraves are scuffed and covered in many layers of paint. What’s the best way to make this look nice? Replace them or try to strip and repaint? I’ve attached a pic of the architrave around the front...

    What are these cables?

Thank you EFL! Obviously we don’t use a landline so is it possible/advisable to just rip it out or cut it off?

    What are these cables?

Hello all. Working on fixing up our Victorian house and wondering what these cables are by the front door? They’re pretty unsightly and would be great if we could get rid of them somehow.
