What are these cables?

Hello all. Working on fixing up our Victorian house and wondering what these cables are by the front door? They’re pretty unsightly and would be great if we could get rid of them somehow.

Thank you EFL! Obviously we don’t use a landline so is it possible/advisable to just rip it out or cut it off?

Just remove whatever you wish to, no one will care, even if it is still active, especially if you are neww there

In general, remember "landline" includes ADSL and VDSL (aka "fiber to the cabinet") services, not just analog phones. It doesen't include cable or fiber to the home (aka "full fiber") services.

The stuff in your picture already appears to be disconnected and presumably not in use, but if you have any copper services from BT I would want to take the front off that master socket and check to see if there were any splices behind it before ripping it out.
