Thanks for your reply
There’s no insulation beneath. Basecoat was applied to existing and new block / brickwork.
I’ve circled some of the areas I’m referering to. It does appear flat (other than the horizontal line on the porch) but patchy in terms of texture or colour or both
Hi all,
Coming toward the end of a full house renovation which included the addition of a front porch. Rendering was priced as part of the package and SWS Envirowall Flexisil was used.
The front was top coated just over a week ago and I feel it looks patchy and that the finish is poor. There...
Thanks Harry, so based on this standard block paving would not qualify, it would need to be the permeable type on the correct sub base.
Any thoughts on how this would function if the permeable sub base is laid over clay soil?
Good evening all,
I’m based in south wales and am due to have an existing block drive redone / extended. There is currently a slope down away from the house towards the road.
We are in a clay soil area.
My questions are:
- As we are in a clay soil area, are permeable surfaces such as...
Sorry to hijack this. Do you have any sources from suds regulations stating this? I am due to start a drive in the next couple of weeks and was hoping to use a non permeable block. The ‘permeable’ blocks are not the next looking and more costly. Sub base can be MOT 3 with a non woven geotex...
Thanks for your reply. In terms of the opening width of 680mm, this isn't a concern as I have found doors that work. My concern is that given there is only 10mm of trim over the tray on one side (3rd picture), how can an enclosure be secured over the tray and onto this trim?
I hope this make sense
Hi all,
I’ve had two en-suites formed and tiled as part of a full house renovation / extension. Could anyone please advise whether this current set up is suitable for a shower door installation.
My main concern in both rooms is that on one side, the tile only overhangs the tray by the...
Sorry to jump on this old thread but I have found myself with a similar situation. My builder has formed the warm roof but left the space between the top of the cavity wall and the warm roof deck without insulation. I’ve raised this and he has said he’ll remove the fascia from the outside and...
Hi J,
I recently went through the whole processes with WW. Our extension was being built near, but not over the shared sewer which also ran parallel to the rear of our property / extension.
They wanted the same for me, also to inspect works to the sewer as we progressed. They were pretty...
I would be very grateful for suggestions here,
We are building a porch as part of a larger refurb. Internal dimensions approx 2x3.2m
Architect has pushed for single skin with 63mm thick insulation backed plasterboard
Should we go for this over a cavity wall with partial full insulation?
I’m...
Please could I have an idea of what I should expect to pay for the supply and fit of:
- 152x152x30 steel beam 9m span, or spliced in 3 with 200x120x10 end plates
- 400x155x12 flange plates bolted to the steel
- padstones either either end 330x140
- a single SHS support column 100x100x5
-...
Thanks for those that responded with advice. The water authority has approved this idea and a groundwork’s team have confirmed that it is possible to build the new chamber off set to ensure adequate clearance from the building
Thanks Woody. Is there a source of info that I can learn more on what is / isn’t acceptable?
If a 450x600 chamber was orientated ‘portrait’ then this would still give good access to the drains I would have thought?
This chamber receives drainage from the kitchen and bathrooms of the house. It will either need to be moved or modified.
So, any thoughts on whether it is practically possible to re-orientate the chamber cover to sit further away?
Yes, this is what I am in the process of now. As stated, they would be happy to give permission so long as we can get the chamber cover 300mm or more away from the extension.
