    250l UV Tank

If this is a lame question sorry! On dipping the tank when I fitted the Thermowatt learning immersion/stat there was another 100mm of depth, why don't they fit a longer immersion?

    250l UV Tank

Hi Rob thanks for the info :-) so in effect, if the boiler is not switched on the bottom of the tank will never get hot using the immersions? warm maybe?

    250l UV Tank

Thank You, The tank was installed by a qualified engineer with a certificate, the electrical side is not down to a plumber, I have had 55+ years in all forms of the electrical/electronics trades so I am happy to do my bit and get it checked. I built my house it took me 3 years and "all the trade...

    250l UV Tank

Hi John the first of Madrabs sketches is the right layout and the second immersion is in the same location at the other end. I appreciate you guys helping ;) and I am trying to grasp the way the tanks water circulation works! still trying  The tank stat was closed this morning after 7...

    250l UV Tank

Hi John the second immersion was a special order, sorry to confuse but I swapped the immersion stats over to eliminate any problem. Yes the HW is working as it should John the boiler is set to 70, I suppose I was expecting the immersion to share a bigger proportion of keeping the tank charged :(...

    250l UV Tank

Hi Madrab thanks for the input and understand the logic behind it, and yes it is indirect, my idea is to use the off-peak times with 1 or 2 immersions and the boiler to do the main heating, I think I am wasting my time trying to get the stats to work at the same temp, I have a smart Thermowatt...

    250l UV Tank

I changed the thermostats over same situation the tank stat is still calling for heat. As the tank stat is at the near bottom of the tank I am wondering if they will ever be more or less the same? and be content with the boiler doing most of the heating?

    250l UV Tank

Hi John the immersion was on from 12.00 to 07.00 with one at the moment, the second 2.5mm feed going in today. I will check the elements etc this afternoon. Thanks ;)

    250l UV Tank

Hi John it's proving to be a bit of a task to work out whats going on! I have set the tank stat to 50 and the Thermowatt immersion heater is set to 55-60 as standard (I have a smart one to go in) but this morning doing a continuity check across the tank stat it shows a short which means the tank...

    Honeywell 42005748-001 wiring center

Thanks John I get that whichever way I look at it the HW 2 port is not being fed through the Tank Stat if I connect the brown wire from the valve to the tank stat switch side it works as it should?

    Honeywell 42005748-001 wiring center

Thanks for the reply, if I do a continuity check it shows the contacts are open, it appears the 240v to the 2 port is fed from elsewhere not through the thermostat as per S plan, just a tad confused as I can't trace the cause if it weren't PCB unseen it would be easier :(

    250l UV Tank

I have had a 250l horizontal tank installed in the loft, my question is it has two 3kw immersions is one enough to fully heat the tank or is it best to use the two? the tank is also supplied with only one, I had two just in case of a failure. Thanks for any pearls of wisdom :)

    Honeywell 42005748-001 wiring center

Hi all, I have a problem with the wiring center! it all works to a large extent but! when the Hive switches on the HW it overrides the tank stat which is not calling for heat and 240v appears on the brown wire on the 2 port valve. I have cut all the requested links for an S plan system. Any...
