I installed my 2-way dimmer switch, and there is light - Hallejulah!!! However, when set to anything but min or max, the dimmer is buzzing quite loud and the halogen light is blinking. I checked the connections and it all looks good - is the dimmer simply crap or could it be faulty? Bough it...

I just noticed that there is a third wire (yellow/green), but it is attached into a hole in the mounting box. Is this the earth wire?

Hi, I am replacing my standard switch with a chrome 2-way dimmer switch, and was advised that I have to earth it. Inside the mounting box I only see too wires - one for C and one for L1, so I'm not sure what to do with the earth terminal on the dimmer switch. Is it dangerous not to earth...

The dimmer has terminals L1, L2 and C. The instructions are not specific for this dimmer - they show how to install both 1 and 2-way dimmers. Thanks
