the old shower is a 9.5 kw

Do you have to have a qualified electrician to fit a shower or can you do it yourself. I just want to replace my old one for a new one but wasnt sure if there are now new regulations that this type of job needs to be done by someone qualified.

on the shower switch on the cu reads 240/400v.

the consumer unit says Rated current-with swith dissconnector 50A with RCD 63 A

I found out that the old one is a 9.5 kw and the cable looks like a 10mm we also have a seperate fuse box thing for the shower. would like to get the mira 10.8kw shower, hope that will be ok.

I want to replace an electric shower.The one that was here when we moved in does not work. I dont know what wattage it is. How do i know what wattage to buy? I dont want to buy the wrong thing.
